The Zamorak staff is a type of God staff that is obtained after completing the Mage Arena minigame. It can only be used in combat, and is the only staff that will allow you to cast the Flames of Zamorak spell. To get it, you must defeat Kolodion the mage, in all of his different forms. Either speak to the merchant after worshiping the statue of Zamorak or buy one off the merchant for 80,000. The spell also has the effect of lowering the opponent's magic level.

Ironically, the Zamorak staff has weaker stats than normal elemental staves even though it is a god item. The staff's Autocast ability could be used to automatically cast elemental spells. But, as of 2nd September 2009, all spells can now be autocast and the staff is just a requirement for Flames of Zamorak. Previously only the Void knight mace could autocast a god spell and that was Claws of Guthix. Take caution when fighting with this weapon and the cape, for if you die and you lose them on death, you will not be able to return to your gravestone and claim them. You must go back to the Mage Arena and pray at the appropriate statue and buy the appropriate staff back from the merchant for 80,000 coins.
