Zaff's instructions is a members-only quest item used only in What Lies Below. It is obtained from Zaff, and gives instructions for using the Beacon Ring. It serves no purposes other than to inform players about how to operate the Beacon ring, which is a particularly easy task. Simply press 'Operate' (either when it is worn or in your inventory), and Zaff will come by to stop Surok Magis once King Roald has no Health in his bar ('red barred'). If you use it before you are supposed to in the quest you will get a message saying "You shouldn't call Zaff until you need to" and will not be allowed to use it again until you need to. If you lose them, you can go back to Zaff to get them back. However, you can only gain it back 9 times before he will forbid you from retrieving another.

Instructions for Beacon Ring

Use this ring when you are ready to summon me to your aid. It is a daunting task, but you must battle the king to allow me to remove the spell from him. When the king is almost dead, use this ring and I will teleport to your aid. Be warned - Though I am skilled with magic, I am no fighter! Should you summon me too early I will have to teleport us out of danger! When our mission is completed, I will remove the summon ability from the ring, but you may keep it for protection.
