Wool is gathered from sheep by using shears on them when they have a full coat. It can also be obtained from them if one right clicks on them with a pair of shears in their inventory, and uses them on a sheep. It can be spun on a spinning wheel to make a ball of wool, granting the player 2.5 Crafting experience each. The most common place for players to get wool is in Lumbridge as it is also close to a spinning wheel and a bank.
Wool is also used in Construction to make a cushioned cat basket.
Wool can also be given to a pet cat, and the cat will play with the wool. The player will not get the wool back. However, if done with a ball of wool, the player would get the ball back.
