Women are NPCs that can be found in many places across the world. The women in RuneScape are very similar to the men, the only major difference being the appearance. They can also be a good source of herbs for low level players. Players can pick a woman's pocket at level 1 Thieving, giving 8 experience.

Women can be found almost anywhere in RuneScape along with Men.
They used to dominate the city of Lumbridge, but with the introduction of the 'Work-for' option they were replaced by non-attackable NPCs.
To date, the area most abundantly filled with Men/Women would be Edgeville, right next to the jail.

- There is a glitch that can be done while attacking a woman by talking to a woman when she is dead.
- There is an unresponsive woman at the top of the Lumbridge cellar house (where you complete learning the ropes) who if you talk to her, the words "Nothing interesting happens" appear. If you examine her, the text will appear as "She seems to doubt the existence of a dragon at all" this likely an Easter egg, that Jagex put in, as the dragon appeared in the cellar directly under the house.
