Wizard robes

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

Wizard robes used to be the only set of magic armour available to non-members before Fist of Guthix was released. Magic robes have no requirements to wear, and they come in blue, black, trimmed, and gold trimmed. While no magic armour is provided to be worn on the legs, most players wear a skirt of the right colour (even male characters), but some players wear leather chaps because they offer a slight defence bonuses and no penalty to magic attacks. Some players might choose to use Priest robes or Shade robes and the black wizard hat to make the set match. Monk robes are also commonly worn for the high prayer bonus.

Note that after the 9 April 2008 update introducing the Fist of Guthix minigame, the Druidic mage robes and the Combat robes are available to non-members and the tradeable, uncharged versions of these robes offer +1 magic bonuses than wizard robes. However, the charged forms offer a much higher magic attack bonus and the combat robes even offer slight defence bonuses.
