A Willow longbow (u) is cut from Willow logs at 40 fletching, granting 41.5 experience (83 if using a sacred clay knife). An unstrung willow longbow can be strung using a bowstring at 40 fletching, granting an additional 41.5 experience thus making a willow longbow. However, to train, players may do better by waiting until level 55 fletching and using their bowstrings for maple longbows, due to the low value of willow longbows. Because of the low price and ease of obtaining willow logs, cutting them into longbows, and gaining experience this way, there is currently an excess of willow longbow (u)s on the Grand Exchange.

Below is the process of how to make a Willow Longbow(u).
- Before beginning, make sure to have the following items in the inventory: Willow logs and a knife.
- Click on the knife making sure the knife is now in use mode. Now click on one of the Willow logs.
- Select the middle of the three options that now appear on top of the in game text box.
- Left clicking on this option will create one, while right clicking will offer the option to create more.

- This item is usually regarded as Junk and seldom traded at full price
- This item can be invested in Mobilising armies minigame. Each unit trades for 12 Investment Credits
- Stringing this item is not cost-effective. It is recommended to save all strings until player can fletch Yew longbow(u)s or Magic longbow (u)s
