War ship

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The war ship was discontinued in 2002 with the transition to RuneScape 2. The war ship was once found in Glough's house in the Gnome Stronghold during the Grand Tree quest. It was only available on RuneScape Classic but some people kept them during the transition to RuneScape 2 and still have them in the current game. Jagex has not changed the graphics of the war ship as they have done to other rare items with the release of Runescape 2.

The war ship was once considered the rarest item in the game, however, this is not the case, as it is almost certain that it is much more common due to the fact that players are able to re-obtain this item during the two-week introductory period for Runescape Classic, held by Jagex in the month of 11 November, 2009. Although this is still an uncommon rare item, it does not give you an advantage at all and is not able to be equipped. The war ship was a tradable, rarely kept item found in the top of a house in the Tree Gnome Stronghold when it was first released. When players found out that they could not do anything with it, they dropped it since it would just respawn anyway. Upon transition to Runescape 2, it was rendered untradeable.

When players chose to play with the war ship during Runescape Classic It would state: You pretend to sail the ship across the floor. You soon become very bored, and realise you look quite silly.

[edit] Trivia

  • It is among the few items in RuneScape Classic to have a near instantaneous respawn rate.
  • It is possible to get the war ship again for members who logged in to Runescape Classic in the 2 week period that Jagex had it open.
  • Many people on Runescape Classic use this item to scam.
