The vial of red mist is used during Dimension of Disaster. It can be obtained by killing an Armoured zombie and using an empty vial on the red mist that appears. Two of these vials are used to pass through the barriers on the 1st floor[UK] of the New Varrock palace during the Defender of Varrock and Curse of Arrav subquests.
