The veteran cape (10 year) is one of the Capes of Distinction, released separate from the rest on 17 July 2012. It can be bought from Hans by players whose accounts are 10 years old. It is currently available to accounts that were created before 17 May 2003. This cape is similar to the Veteran cape (5 year) but it instead features an X for 10 years of play and is also dark red in colour. It is possible to store the cape on a cape rack in the costume room of a player owned house. If bloom effects are turned on, the "X" on the cape will glow.

The cape costs 100,000 coins from Hans, found in front of Lumbridge castle. Players who cannot yet obtain the cape will be told You will be able to claim the Ten-Year Veteran cape from Hans in x days.

• Players may speak to Hans to find out when their account was created if they are not eligible for either the 5 and/or 10 year cape.
• When you are eligible for the cape in 1 day the chat box message will say "You will be able to claim the Ten-Year Veteran cape from Hans tomorrow!" instead of the usual X days message.
