Verac's brassard

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

A detailed Verac's Brassard.

Verac's brassard is melee armour worn in the Body slot that is part of Verac The Defiled's set of barrows equipment. To wear Verac's brassard, a player must have 70 Defence.

Being part of Verac's barrows set, if Verac's brassard is worn along with all of the other pieces of equipment in Verac's barrows set the player receives a special attack. Successful attacks have a chance of hitting through an opponent's defence and prayer, potentially causing heavy damage.

Interestingly, in the Inventory screen, the brassard is displayed as "Verac's top".

It is increasingly worn in place of a Dragon chainbody as it provides nearly identical stat bonuses for less than 1/20th the price while still looking somewhat good with the rest of the Dragon set.

[edit] Repair

This can be fixed at Bob's Axes in Lumbridge, or Tindel Merchant in Port Khazard; both can fix it at any degrade stage, the cost to fix it depends on how much it has degraded. To fully fix it costs 90,000 coins. Veracs will only degrade during 15 hours of combat while wearing it.

[edit] Graphics history

In the introduction of the Barrows armour sets, the top on female characters looked the same as on male characters, thus rendering the female characters somewhat topless. When Jagex found out the problem, they fixed it in an update, causing the female characters to wear a piece of cloth on their chest as well. This piece of cloth only covers the front. It is not known if this is intentional.
