A Valentine love note can be found from monster drops, training skills or won from Treasure Hunter during the 2014 Valentine's Day promotion. It is similar to the Valentine hearts in the Squeal of Fortune promotion in 2013.
The rewards unlocked with Valentine love notes are split into Love and Hate rewards:
- Love
- Loved Up - 1,750 notes
- Staff of Adoration (members only) - 1,000 notes
- Crown of Hearts - 800 notes
- Hate
- Down to Earth - 1,750 notes
- Spear of Despite (members only) - 1,000 notes
- Crown of Misery - 800 notes
Chocolates, a neutral reward, can be received by trading in 50 notes. The first chocolate purchased will also give a Box of Valentine chocolates. There are six types of chocolate, and filling the box with two of each type unlocks two titles "The Scrumptious" and "The Forlorn", and gives five small lamps, giving experience to the player's five lowest levels. Chocolates can be swapped one-for-one with other players, but cannot be traded for other items or money.
While skilling, the following will appear in the chatbox when the player has received Valentine love notes: Congratulations! You've found some Valentine love notes! 4-8 notes are received like this, up to a maximum of 160 notes a day.
Unused love notes were removed from player's inventory on Friday, 14 March 2014 with the message: Cupid has collected up all of the unsent Valentine notes. Thus, all rewards obtainable associated with the love notes are discontinued.
If you attempt to take a Valentine love note to Entrana, the monk will say "I'm sorry, but we do not allow those Valentine love notes on our holy island", as the love notes could be redeemed for the Staff of Adoration or the Spear of Despite, allowing players to successfully smuggle weapons onto Entrana.
Baby Troll names[]
Like with Valentine hearts from the year before, love notes can be fed to pet Baby Trolls in order to get the option to name them "Valentine love note", or a random pet name, chosen from the list below. This only works if they do not already have a name. The troll will say "Yum, me like be your Valentine!" when he eats a note.
The available names are:
- Angel
- Blossom
- Tootsie
- Dearest
- Babydoll
- Honeybear
- Bubbles
- Flower
- Cuddlebug
- Ducky
- Pooky
- Jellybean
Only one is visible at a time, but players can click "Randomise pet name" to make the names loop through until they either get the desired pet name, or it loops back to "Angel".
