after a 22 run dry spell i got verac's helm from barrows!! 2m should help pay for more trips.. the time i got the item i did it in full mystic the whole trip instead of mystic/d'hide.. you're right about iban blast too, it kills them so much faster, i cut my prayer pots from 5/trip to 3 easily using it.. thanks for the tips, they seem to be working.. i saw ur mssg to gorillaz, i tested this to prove my theory, according to ge prices atm iban blast is 9 gp more expensive per cast than magic dart, fire runes aren't part of the chest reward, so in turn they take up an extra space when your reward is recieved, which is a problem for professionals who use 3 or 4 monks max a time. it can hit up to 25 but this speed increase is negated by the recharge time (from lletya), is a further waste of run energy in getting back to the barrows and costs extra teles, and the saving on prayer points is also negligable and negatede again by the recharge time, with my current method of barrowing (selling p pots and food back to morton shop to speed barrow (p pots r ded cheap) This wasted even more of my time. it can hit up to 25 but even with my mage level doesn't 1/3 of the time, magic dart doesn't require a positive magic attack bonus to hit, iban blast sooo does otherwise it tends to splash frequently which almost never happens to me with dart even with guthans on. The constant charging every 3-4 trips just kills this spell, magic dart is so much better even if it does hit lower, the exp is greater for mage dart too, even though it hits lower the base exp is higher than that of iban blast, and it doesn't even autocast, which is a right pain.

basically m8 after testing this, its worse exp, more expensive, inv space consuming, slower overall, requires a good mage attack bonus, doesn't hit above 20 as much as I'd like it to depsite my mage lvl, wastes run energy costs an extra tele (lletya and back to barrows) my house portal is of course free cos i have recovered the cost on them all ages ago, doesn't autocast and slows me down, another guy I know who uses mystic rune and blak dhide, has tested fire wave fire blast iban blast magic dart and ancients at the barrows said the same thing. so Its not just higher players like us who are slowed. in fact it was worse for him (hes 92 btw) cos of his mage (79) and his agility (58) it slowed him down even more, I just can't see why you think this is so great, after testing myself and my m8 testing it's clearly not. Hey mate,

You are right, iban blast can't be autocast, but it is so powerful and so fast, much more than slayer.
You are right, iban needs one additional space for fire rune and it is not part of loot, But an :additionnal space is not so much.
You are right, iban have to be recharged every 5 trips, which takes less than 3 minutes.
You are wrong, iban hits a lot of time more than 20 and is much faster than slayer.
You are right, iban needs magic stuff (low def mate ;) )

In conclusion I've tested both iban and slayer :

with high def i prefer slayer staff cause i don't need p pot at all and i dont care about spending more time killing brothers
with low def i prefer iban cause i use less p pot but i use a lot of food which require a home tele each run. (i know, this is very long)

But remember my theory on barrows drops...Wearing low def might give more items...the choice comes naturally !

It cannot be autocast, this slows down the barrowing overall and negates some of the time gained by hitting higher, the one additional space it needs does affect me since i hardly ever use any food or p pots at all when barrowing with dart, and when having to eat valuable food at the end as it is to accomodate the coins, bloods chaos and racks, having 1 less space hurts this more, especially since I am down 1 food item in the first place, shortening my trips, (I have recently done 23 trips without the need to go back to my house or away from the barrows area, this would be severly dented by using iban blast (as it was, since it only lasts 3 or 4 trips (not 5, you cannot use 20 charges per trip to take down 4 possibly 5 (karil) bros).

It took me 3 mins 36 secs to recharge, lletya tele costs cash (550 gp per 3 recharges), the spells are more expensive, you have said you need a home tele each run, this is more expensive, it is not much faster than slayer as me and a mate went head to head today, he has 79 magic, not far off yours, (he used a magic boost pot to get to your level) and was wearing ahrims, he went up against me from opposite ends of the tomb, I beat him to killing dharok by 8 seconds. Here is what he hit; 16, 18, 21, 15, 23, 7. I should note that I had a negative magic bonus here (-5) and still beat him, Iban needs high magic attack, hence LOW MELEE DEFENCE armour, not "low armour" they are two different things remember? I used it and found iban to be worse than slayer dart, and my 92cb m8 found it to be worse (which I wasn't expecting, since he can only hit 17 with dart) but because he used alot of resources already, iban made him use more, which slowed him down ALOT.

Also dart means higher defence, less food is used, and actually you'll find less p pot is used, (judging by my 92 m8, not by me I don't use them anyways) basically m8 it costs more, it uses more, and is alot longer overall despite hitting higher, also it does not give as much xp, here you admit it takes longer overall yourself, ":*with low def i prefer iban cause i use less p pot but i use a lot of food which require a home tele each run. (i know, this is very long)". you seem to be exxagerrating its affectiveness, it doesn't last 5 runs, and I have 94 mage, no way has it 5 hit brothers consistently (and if you mage karil which i do sometimes it stuffs that right up), and I have done more low and high runs recently, and concluded kc only affects the amount of runes coins and bolt racks recieved, maybe it affects the drop by a small percentage, but that could be down to luck, I have concluded we'll never know unless the equation is released. I currently use kc 9 and high armour and gorrilaz is less experienced than my m8 who has clocked up 1k+ trips Bob2006ty^{_{(RUNESTORM333)}talk} 14:33, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

I did read it, and I do remember, my 92 m8 had to use more food and 1 dose less p pot, however if you read my posting, that was negated by the time and cost of other things, the impact is not so huge. No it is not less food ad your reply said the speed is negated by the low melee def, so its more food and as aforementioned the 1 dose less p pot gets negated by other factors. The positive point being barrows items can't factor into this discussion about the effectiveness/efficiency of the two spells as it is as you have said a theory. and "The cost of each spell and recharge is far below the cost of a p pot !" doesn't work as my player only had to use one dose more, 3.5k a p pot (4 dose) divide by 4 = 875 coins your average of 23-26 (say 24.5) spells =220.5gp more per trip, a home tele = 384 coins per trip and extra monks at 350 ish ea, lletya per 3 or 4 trips = 500/3 =166.6gp thats already far greater than the p pot gain. The speed of killing brothers is again negated by reasons I have mentioned above (last posts), it isnt faster than going to morton either btw, as I have tried it, I know where I came in and can get out very easily. I was to morton store and back to barrows as my m8 was running across morton bridge. I no longer b leve in the theory I'm afraid m8, as I have said, and lets just drop it, my hits on dharok were quite good for me (above normal) (but iban was still slower cos of autocast and overall); 17, 19, 13, 17, 18, 16.

Both helms do not have an attack bonus, but the Black mask does have a 15% attack and 15% strength boost against slayer tasks.

Bork and the jade vine are not assigned slayer tasks, but they do give slayer experience. The test is to see if the black mask gives the extra 15% attack and 15% strength against these too.

For Bork, it does look like it gives the extra 15% bonus. I'll soon know more with the Jade vine too. :-) Amaurice ^talk 10:16, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

I saw you mentioning cool bonus of Spirit terrorbird. In case you did not know, when you use a scroll you will also receive a small agility bonus. At lvl 69 the bonus is 2, I do not know if that is a constant or based on users agility. But its nice when doing agility courses.--Degenret01 00:36, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Bummer about the the bird not working on Ape Atoll. I just started using the bird like 10 days ago when I went to Agility Pyramid. And it proved highly useful there as I got to skip the energy pots. Regarding the Charm Drop rates, when you say wikitable, does that mean have the little arrows to sort by different ways? User:Nq2h is proposing a table that adjust automatically after a user inputs thier data. Follow the discussion (but try to Ignore everthing me and Butterman say to each other ) on Talk:Charms.

As you are one of the people that put in some of the original data for the table that is (sometimes) on the Charms page, I wanted to let yuo know that I am still compiling that information on my user page. So if you ever kill 100 of something and note the charm drops, go ahead and let me know and I will incorporate that into the table. Right now there is a discussion on whether it gets to stay with Charms, but I feel it will. At that time I will make sure all added data to the table on my page goes on the Charm page where it will benefit many, not a few. if this is something you don't care to do, thats all fine. The actual name of the minigame is up for discussion so dont wink at me. If you look at the rewards section for the All fired up quest Jagex refer to the minigame as the "All Fired Up minigame".

The exp table that you modified is the bonus exp you get for having a certain amount lit at a time. You also get the exp listewd int he table above it regardless of how many are lit. I have done the beacon game a few times now and have always got the same amount of exp. --

Hi, why are you editing the calculator over and over again (21 times) when it could be done in far less (perhaps 5 at most)? From what I could saw ([1], [2], [3], [4]), many of your edits were extremely trivial and could be done in just a couple of edits. Such edits violate the policy RS:GTS (you may want to see User:Clv309/Cruser to see what I mean), and may result in you getting blocked. There is the option to show Preview before you save the page. [edit] Why I skip stuff

I skip Steel dragons because authough I can kill them faily easily, there are always loads of people fighting them on all worlds so the task takes a very long time. Plus they are quite expensive to kill, compared to iron dragons. I'd rather not fight them and spend my time on other tasks instead. Mithril dragons I have decided to keep for now. I don't think i've quite got the hang of them yet and cant do many before having to bank. However I only get them assigned in very low numbers so I might not skip them after all.
