[edit] A rather "sandy" problem

Somehow I've ended up with two different sandboxes without even realizing it. I only need one though, so I was wondering what I should do in order to get the sandbox I'm not using (the one with unfinished Bonesack and Ram Skull Helm articles on it) deleted to avoid any later confusion if I ever decide to rearrange the stuff on my user page. Dude, but the thing is, he is not an NPC. By any standards. He doesn't function like an npc, you can either Talk, Trade, or Attack NPCs, every single one of them has at least one yellow option. NPCs have a yellow dot on the map, and yellow text to go with it. This guy has nothing, you can do nothing with him, all he has is an animation and blue text, which, is interactive scenery >_< Sorry if it seems like I'm yelling at you, you've said that you think it should be deleted, but I think any article having to do with non-interactive scenery (unless it has some kind of amazing history) should be deleted. But before that happens, people need to know the difference between the two things.

Well, hey, we're not Jagex! Both of our opinions as a team mean nothing, I can keep on stating my reasons and whatnot, and I strongly believe in them, but who am I or you or Caleb to say that the Man with the bellows is an NPC or NIS? We're not. I'll have to ask Jagex on the forums, because the constant bickering that would happen again between support and oppose, the "IT'S AN NPC!" and the "NO IT'S NOT!" would just get us nowhere if we had another YG/VFD discussion. We would need to know Jagex's original intentions on creating this dude. Was he meant to say hello and show personality, to show off the Smithing skill? Or was he meant to simply add realism to the game, so it doesn't look as boring. The world may never know?unless we ask jarflex

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I found [[:File:Picture9.png|this]] image earlier.. it's the Defence icon from the Highscores. Do you know if there's any more of the 24 highscores skill icons uploaded? If not, I plan on doing so, and placing them all on the Hiscores page and maybe their respective skill pages. Thanks, I guess that makes sense. I just thought it was be would look nicer in Category:Skill images as they would all be lined up, seperate from the others. But since H (hiscore) is between A and Z, it would actually seperate the skill icons from each other like:

I think it was due to the code checking for over a month since last verified, but when the month changed it the code registered one month difference, even if it was only 10 or so days. Well... now that I've categorized all of the highscores icons.... how do you think I should organize them on the Hiscores article ? Thanks for Orphan....-aging them for me, I'll be sure to do that next time, sorry. The top-right overall stats icon sounds good, but placing the hiscores icon in the table... I just don't think it'll look right. That same table uses the skill icons (found in the Statistics screen) all across the wiki. If we just take out those icons, and put in the hiscores ones... don't you think people will see as different and weird?

That sounds like a great idea. My only concern is that the minigame icons (BH, BHR, MA, DA, and FoG) are all used on the page, (section 2.1) in some kind of informational manner and the hiscore icons actually relations to skills wouldn't be (they'd only be sitting up at the top!).

Yeah, I think deleting it is the right call. Apart from the reasons you mentioned, the height of the NPC in Parsonsda's version and the original RSMV version are near exact. At first I thought that the lighting on the shoulder pad was a part of the costume but the new in-game image uploaded of her in the Slayer Tower proves otherwise. Well, we haven't exactly 100% confirmed that it is an RSMV image, plus this is pretty minor, so the only action I would take would be to give a friendly warning. Note that I'm quite sure Parsonsda's native tongue isn't English so he may have been a little confused. On a side note, Tip. It Times featured my article C.Chiam^Talk 03:07, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

Okay, now that is strange...yesterday he mentioned somethign about getting them from another site, but when I pressed him further he just said that he fought Glophren and got the pictures himself. According to his Adventurer's Log, his last Champion kill was the Hobgoblin, so it looks like he was lying. Yeah, I think we should wait for his response for now. Proven guility, he's online in-game right now. I asked him about the killing Glophren and all that. According to him (his story's changed a bit), he was on his brother's account when he killed Glophren. Contradicts the fact that he was on Parsonsda when he loudly announced that he had just killed Glophren. I then asked him for his brother's account's username, and then he said someone was stalking his brother, and there was a police investigation with Jagex involved. And supposedly, if he told me his brother's username, I would be involved in the investigation (which..I never believed for a second). And then I asked him how was it that he was able to go on his brother's account then, since there was the "investigation" and all. To which he replied that the whole investigation started on the same day he killed Glophren. And then he said that his was asking his brother whether he could tell me his username. The username is Parsons93. Valid username (shows up in Friends List) but not in the Hiscores (and of obvious reasons, it should have been). Asked him again about it, and after a period of silence, he said that he didn't know why it doesn't show up. Then I told him that some users believe that he is lying and that I was going to have to delete the images. And this:

Hey Psych, I was wondering if you know how to place two or more charts next to each other as I am having a bit of difficulty doing so. I am adding some new content to the Summoning tank page and in the armour section, the one of the chart is below the other, but I want them to be next to each other horizontally without connecting. Ok, I think that this totally depends on how people were reacting to the threat. If people were using the thread as a medium to insult/degrade him then it definitly should be deleted since it would be just what he wants and would just encourage him to attempt to do more damage. However, the thread was nothing like this with everone just shrugging him off and talking about how he can be easily dealt with. This probably wouldn't give him any satisfaction, and is possibly helpful since it is informing people of him and what he does. I am terribly sorry to bug you, but I am currently having an issue with an editing conflict. My edits keep being reverted back due to the fact that another user is editing information that is totally pointless. I am desperate to ask if you know or can contact an administrator of the sort to temporarily block out most users from editing the page I have made and currently in progress with. It is very frustrating as I do not have much time left continuing having this conflict with this person. I hope for your response as soon as possible.

Its a very nice template.

1. I think it'd be better to have the herbs and secondaries as parameters rather than hard coded in the template, if only because it cuts down the template code a lot.
2. For potions with more than the standard 2 ingredients, like Sanfew serum, we could code the template right onto the page, with adjusted rows/columns/whatever. Got it. You can use {{Exchange:item|View=date}} to get the time-date it was updated (and {{Exchange:item|View=lastdate}} for the pervious update time-date, if you wanted that for whatever reason). You can then mess around with that using {{#time:}} to get it into different forms.

Well, all of the code in my template is in fact balanced (you can see it at User:The last username left/Xmas09). The problem is that to layer the snowflake images on top of each other, I need to use style="position: absolute;", which in turn causes them to cover anything else on the page. Any links below (vertical) the snowflakes should be unaffected. I tried to ensure that the snowflake images did not fall below the template (which also has position: absolute) but I guess your browser window wasn't wide enough for the template =/. The solution to the problem would, in fact, be to use unbalanced HTML. I would need to place the rest of the page in a div with position: absolute. This causes side effects which vary from browser to browser.

The only thing I noticed that was wrong in my code was several line breaks inside the "-tLUL" link. On some browsers, this may break links directly below the center of the link, but only for a space a few pixels wide. I have now fixed the error.

The snowflakes simply do not animate. The reason that I did not use an animated GIF was because transparency does not work properly; each frame shows all of the previous frames, so the snowflakes would leave a trail. I do not know if this is simply IE's doing (my browser of not-really-choice) or if it is the intended behaviour for animated GIFs.

Alternatively, I could use a single animation with a black background. However, I still cannot use the image as a background without using a separate div because the image is hosted on Photobucket. Unless, of course, you know a way to do so.

Anyways, I may not reply for the next few minutes, as I have about 50 talk pages to fix. I made the mistake of using subst: when I added the templates, so I need to update it on every page. Hey, I'm going to bed now. Should Beanwhatever return, block the range 68.68.107.0/26 - That should cover it. Don't do an infinite block, as that is 64 IP addresses.

As for the IP vandal. If it gets out of hand, rather than protect site, just do 74.243.96.0/19 - But again, maybe for even a shorter time as this will block nearly 8192 IPs.

I read your discussion with Evil Yanks about the "Citing this source" thing. Maybe I would be better if we used a template for it? I don't like the idea of using multiple <br /> tags to separate the thing from the blog, or the "Citing this source" section header. This might be one way of displaying the template:

2. The categorising of blogs is much easier. People looking for "New Dwarf Quest" would not find the blog listed in Category:Developers' Blogs if it is split into individual blogs.
3. Using the search box, it is easier to remember the project title (i.e. "New Dwarf Quest") than the title of the blog (i.e. "Nearly Finished").

"all the updates have their own pages" because they are individual updates with different purposes. However, blogs are written based on a particular project being worked on by Jagex Moderators and they usually write about one particular topic in several blogs. The advertising accounts thread ended in the wiki deciding to love and welcome all clans (I was personally disgusted over how many people were kissing SFs bum). Only one person objected. Well, if there got to be that many we should make a subpage of links I think. Same would go with guide vids to the slaying of various creatures and whatnot. The page Adamant Equipment could use some work, and needs to look a lot more like the Rune Equipment page. i don't want to screw up the page trying to figure out how to make it more like the Rune Equipment page. I wondered if you could do it or you know another admin who could do it. -Falling ROcks
