From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape
Hi there! I noticed that you're the only person to have made an edit for a very long time. I found this site by chance and I think that I can help with a lot. I already made two quest pages, and I can help anytime you want me to. It seems as though you're the only active person here! I could try and help you draw attention to the site if you want me to. If it's ever necessary, I'd also like to become an admin. I've done a lot of work on some other wikis, so I know how everything goes down. Let me know, okay? →Evin290 21:09, 9 May 2005 (UTC)
- I'm also trying my best to add to the wiki. I'm working on templates for the many skills, and also fix up the articles so they look more proffesional. I've noticed your user page on Wikipedia, which is how I discovered this wiki. :) Oddlyoko 22:27, 28 Oct 2005 (UTC) (Wikipedia name Linkofazeroth)
- P.S. I seem to be sharing Evin's desire to become an admin. :P
- Hi, I just sent a coment to Customer Support on the subject of screen-shooting the game and cutting out parts we need, like a picture of a chicken for the Chicken page, or a picture of a Fire Rune for the relevant page. Oddlyoko 00:15, 1 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I got a negative back from Jagex. See their response. Oddlyoko 18:31, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- I replied with a complaint to the effect of "Why is Tip.It allowed to use screenshots?". Hope to get a good reply back. Oddlyoko 18:52, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- That decision would seem to go against fair use principles, and would outlaw most fan sites - was it clear that the matter in question was self-taken screenshots, and not any that exist on the Jagex site?
- References, though not really certain either way... http://fairuse.stanford.edu/Copyright_and_Fair_Use_Overview/chapter9/index.html http://www.jisclegal.ac.uk/publications/copyrightalexmorrisson.htm (this one seems to be most concerned with any additional content that may be included within the screenshot though since it is a generated image of a fantasy world, the exact content of which is a result of the players actions, there is no "inclusion".) Some good references here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use - Can't see how anyone could consider such usage not to be "fair" - alternatively, we may have to start a runescape parody, since that seems to be specifically defined as one available fair use term Ace of Risk 20:28, 2 Nov 2005 (UTC)
- I got the reply. See User:Oddlyoko/jagex2. I think we can take this as, since they havn't interfered with Tip.It, that it's ok to use the images they use? Oddlyoko 07:29, 9 Nov 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RfA
I was just wondering if you could vote on my self-nominated RfA. I've waited a qweek with no votes, and I think no-one knows about it. If you could vote, that would be great. Thanks,

[edit] Thanks
Thanks for you quick reply. The main page has been updated. I hope you like it. If there is anything you see that you want changed, please message me. Note that the format is still a rough draft and that I do intend to update it and many other articles in time. Again, thanks. JodoKast 01:45, 12 Dec 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Active?
Hey. I'm just wondering if you're still active. You don't seem to have made a edit in ages. Don't mind me though because it's just curiosity. Cheers,

[edit] IRC link
People who click on "IRC Chat" commonly end up in #wikia rather than in #rswiki. I would appreciate if you would either change the text to "IRC Chat in #rswiki" so some people might at least try to get into the right room, or only link to the Help, with instructions to get into the channel at the top of the page, or something. Thank ya! =D --NOTASTAFF GPT(talk)(eating) 18:20, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
