He didn't block me, fortunately. He just blocked everyone, and that should mean immediate stripping of power/restriction of said power. Unfortunately the only way to limit administrator's powers lies with bureauracrats. And the only way to remove the sysop powers lies with a steward. (I'm trying to take a wiki break and I find this place getting worse. Oh well...) Huanghe63talk 23:38, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Oh well. Maybe some of the other users that were blocked, and maybe even some of the other active users should get some kind of status where they can at least unblock themselves. Is there any way to do this? If not maybe it is time to get another new admin or 2 so that we always have someone logged on to unblock people if he does this again. You now have sysop rights!!! This means that you can rollback easier, block users, protect pages and do a few other things. Some notes

  • Do keep an eye on recent changes, watching for potential vandalism attacks
  • If you are going to block someone, please show restraint - a lot of people use shared IP addresses, so a block for a day is normally best. Vandals get bored easily, but we need contributors from everywhere =)
  • Add the CVU page to your watchlist. If another non-sysop notices vandalism, and updates that page, you should see it and deal appropriately with whoever's causing the damage.
  • Finally, keep up the good work - we still need lots of content!! And congratulations again on being sysoped.

The Date templates need to be subst:'ed or it will change the date every single time you access a page. That being said, I don't think they will subst: appropriately using your method. Found your name on wikipedia, which has completely restructured their coverage of Runescape. This seems appropriate for their audience. Do you know if the old content is still archived somewhere? The template would display the right combat if you use defence=56. If you spell it like defense=56, the template will silently use defence=1. I had this same problem during the template development, which you may have used. Please see the revised use below, which seems to give the expected combat level:

I can't tell you the exact wording of what Jagex told me, but it is not against the rules to play when under 13. Jagex does encourage their parents to play with them, which ironically violates the no more than one person per account rule. If possible, please inform these people of this. I'm not a big fan of this, just because users will look at it and want their names coloured or new users will be confused about the different coloured names.
