I would appreciate it if you wouldn't post on a thread if it's already locked. I realize that people do this sometimes but they shouldn't. It's an abuse of power because we are adding to a discussion that others aren't able to contribute to. If you don't agree with a certain action taken then bring it up on that person's talk page. [edit] Your Opinions on Slayer

Your Slayer guide is good for someone who is a low level, non-serious slayer. A higher level slayer who is more serious about getting the best efficiency with the Slayer skill I think would be frustrated with your methods.

First of all, the truly best tasks in Slayer are (believe it or not) Scabarites, Black Demons, Warped Terrorbirds, Abyssal Demons, Bloodvelds, Waterfiends and Dagganoths.

Duradel gives all of these tasks with a lot more frequency than Sumona. At this point you might think that I am nuts, but hear me out.

Scabarites are insane Slayer xp if you cannon them under Sophanem. Although they can be deadly and you must pray piety and protect range, they are fast and drop a TON of crimsons.

Black Demons are probably the Ranger's delight of Slayer tasks, as it can be around 50k slayer xp safespotting Range with a cannon (plus 100k range xp per hour) in Taverley Dungeon.

Warped Terrorbirds are likely the most frustrating but if you are good at chiming, a rewarding task. They are possible to cannon and have decent drops, including crimsons.

Abyssal Demons are good for obvious reasons. Sumona almost never assigns them.

Bloodvelds are only a good task if you cannon the Mutated Bloodvelds with Protect Melee. But they are enjoyable and you get nice Slayer xp and decent charms.

Waterfiends can be frustrating and slow, but Piety speeds them up easily enough, and karils and a sara sword are usually a great combo to bring them down whilst getting a load of crimsons.

Dagganoths are THE fastest kills in the game. Cannoning them at the Lighthouse is amazing slayer xp.

Some of the other tasks you say are great are a bit overrated. Spiritual mages drop no charms, d boots are not quite as good of a loot as the used to be and they are spread apart.

I also don't think you should hate on Mith Dragons and Skeletal Wyverns quite so easily. Mith Dragons are a quick task if you know what to do, and Wyverns are decent crimson charm droppers and are cannonable.

So with that in mind, I would say Duradel is definitely better for someone who is serious about getting efficient Slayer experience, while keeping Summoning in mind and also speed.

I also don't like how you put down the "stereotypical" slayer equipment. Yes, it is expensive for most players but quite honestly, in the long run the benefit is substantial and is worth RuneCrafting for in advance. The DFS is even better than a Rune Defender, since the attack bonus of the Rune Defender is wasted on many tasks like Dagganoths where you will hit most of the time anyway, and an extra 2 strength is a much greater benefit. I chuckle a little bit at people who think it's quite that easy to lose money on Slayer. People don't figure in the value of a lot of those smaller drops, like herbs, seeds, and rune items, that make you WAY more money than whip drops. You can Piety and Cannon (when possible) every single task you get from 1-99 Slayer and make 100m.

I don't think people should go through so much effort to turn a profit from every task. If you simply try to do every task the fastest way possible, you'll get 99 slayer much sooner and still profit from the skill anyway. I don't think an extra 100m is worth spending 3-6 months more on it.

Also, you really need not worry about losing out on xp if you use Duradel. Unless you are horribly unlucky or aren't doing tasks correctly you WILL be getting the best slayer xp per hour. In order to get 99 slayer and NOT get 99 attack, strength, defense, and range (and HP for that matter) you would have had to get A LOT of Slayer xp off of genie lamps and soul wars, and quests as well, perhaps.

If you think you're going to be doing Slayer for a year...mm, I think you either play very little or are not getting very good xp. If you shell out the cash for an extra 2 prayer, 4 strength, and a bit of defense, I think that the added ease and SPEED will be well worth your money. Go for the tassets, I'd say. Spend the rest on pots and cannonballs. Then with your slayer profit, get the DFS and then the BCP.Jek Nexus^{T C E} 17:19, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
