help me Edit

I know on Wikipedia your not alowd screenshots of ur character in ur user page. but are u alowd to do it here in Runescape Wiki? --Imagine Wizard 15:53, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

At the moment, yes; we may have to limit this somehow in the future but we've got nothing against it yet. Lots of other userpages have them, after all ^_^ So yes, you can use images of your character. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 16:11, 27 January 2007 (UTC)
Just take a picture and upload it using this page. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 19:17, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
 1. Press Printscreen. (PrntScrn, PntScn, whatever - it'll be on your keyboard somewhere)
 2. Open up Paint, or some other image editing program
 3. Edit --> Paste
 4. Edit image as you see fit
 5. Save file
 6. Go here and upload the image by clicking on the Upload button you see there. Make sure you remember where you saved it :p
 7. To add the image to a page, type . JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 19:34, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

Screenshots Edit

Please do not name your screenshots Me in (where ever).(format) or Me with (Who ever).(format)... It would be better if you put (your name) in (where ever).(format) or (your name) wearing (whatever).(format). Thank you.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs17:29, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Well, its ok. You didn't know. Anyway, you have to keep them saved on your computer under the same format, PNG is good. Then, delet them, I don't know if non-sysops can do that. If you can't, just upload it under a different name and I'll delete the old pages. Then, change the file link on your user page.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs17:40, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Actually, the name of the image is immaterial, as long as it's correctly categorised. Not sure why anyone would think otherwise. But if you did want to rename a file, er...indeed, an admin would need to delete the old file. Some of us go around deleting unused images anyway (there's a specialpage on which anyone can see a list of all unused images) so just upload the new one and get rid of the link to the old one. It'll be deleted sooner or later. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 19:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Well, because it can be anyone who uses the word "Me" and if the file is used, or someone wants to upload a file with the words "me", it would have to dele the old one and nobody knows who that one really is. So its just better to name is "(Player Name) is doing whatever.PNG".Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs19:40, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
That's why we have image summaries. A rose by any other name still smells as sweet - it doesn't matter what the image is called; when used in articles and suchlike, no-one sees that. Only the people who use it need to know what it's about, really...Oh, and if the filename is taken when you want to save a file, use a different one... Broken links Edit

Hello, one of the projects that a few members of the wiki have recently taken up includes tackling Wanted Pages to try to remove red links that are not article names. It seems that either your userpage or talk page have links to articles that no longer exist. I’m sending this message to ask you to remove these red links for your pages, or in 2-3 days I will do it myself. If for some reason you would like to keep the links (and the only case I could see of this is if you are trying to retrieve a forum thread that has been deleted, and have not yet been in contact with Hyenaste) then please leave me a message on my talk page as soon as possible so that I know not to remove these links. If you are unsure of what links your page may include, again please leave a message on my talk page. This is what I plan to do:

 • Replace any forum links with link text you had previously or, if its just a link to a forum I will replace it with Forum:old forum name
 • If your page includes a link to a signature that does not exist (most likely Total Rune’s) I will replace the bad link with User name
 • Links to fake items will be replaced simply with the item name
 • Links to non-existant images will be removed completely
 • Links to non-existant user subpages will most likely be replaced with Subpage name

Thank you for your cooperation, and please leave any questions on my talk page. ChristineTalk 15:15, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

Because according to our new image policy, pictures that are not directly used in MAINSPACE articles are to be deleted. If you want them on your page you need to use photobucket, imageshack, or some other image hosting site. But you can't upload them to the wiki. ChristineTalk 19:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
