[edit] Need help fixing edits made by fruit smoothie
Another editor has split the member and nonmember methods along a similar line to how was proposed in our discussion. However they have removed all the methods that work in f2p from the p2p moneymaking guides. As most of the f2p methods aren't obsolete to members this is going to be annoying to members who want a method. Basically I want to make the p2p guides for f2p skills to include everything that was in the original skill guide. I'm sure this can be done easily using the history but I cant figure it, and was hoping you could give me a hand. --Serenity1137 16:26, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Totally wrong!
I didn't remove any of the F2P guides AT ALL, I just merely added them to the P2P section as they were members-only, and since F2P and P2P guides should never mix, I decided to do it that way. Also, they SHOULD be split, because while f2p players can't necessarily perform p2p money making methods, that doesn't stop p2p players from looking at the f2p guides and using those methods too. What I did was make it easier (at least, that's what I think I did) for people who are of a certain status to look at the guide and say "oh look, it's members only, guess i can't use it), instead of merging it all into one big pile and mess.
PLEASE DON'T remove/back up my edits because I spent a lot of time and consideration into it, and even had some help (with some admins here and there, *wink*) to revise and edit the guides. So, if you are going to remove anything, let me know beforehand, and let the community know.

- The switch function is great but there is one bit I can't figure. How do we get it to differentiate between -ve numbers and +ve numbers?, I currently have:

- but if the earning is 0 or less that comes out the same as 500,000 or more...

- Since asking for your help I've managed to find my way to the templates page on that wiki with all the detailed guides. I think it might be possible to do a skill calc that works in the following way: You type in your current xp and your target level into what would acutally be a search bar in disguise. It then takes you to /wiki/Calc/crafting/23410-lvl65. You can make a template which takes parts of the title and incorperates them into calculations, but we can do one better, not only could we do what every other calc on the web does, but we could create a database of methods (of xp earning and money making), cost, requirements, excetra excetra so for our calc you could even enter in all your levels, all your quests/achievements, and how much cash you currently have, and ask it how to make money, or how best to get crafting up. I think that the programming language we have here is versatile enough that I think it can be done.
- I'm not sure if it would be high maintenance (like maybe updating a database every time a new method for anything is come up with) or if we could teach it to just take the methods from tables on the appropriate pages. In any case, I'm sure we can create skill calcs the like of those on tip.it or such. This is a wayyy big project however, so for the mean time (till my exams are over) I'll probably just continue very slowly implementing the money making metric. --Serenity1137 16:55, 27 May 2009 (UTC) p.s. what do you think of all this? vain hope or viable plan?

Hi, something happened in cc today that i thought was bad policy and I was asked to take it to yg if i wanted to carry it on, but i thought i'd see your opinion first (you are my goto admin.
A user (Fred199810) was singing through the cc, he was warned to stop and so he did. He said duh a couple of times in conversation and was asked to stop but not in an official way, just asked 'stop saying duh' about 20 minutes he said duh again not randomly, but when someone said something he thought was obvious. He was then kicked. Vimes refused to own up to kicking him for about 30 minutes, and even then his attitude toward it was who cares. I feel essentially that he kicked Fred because Fred kind of annoyed him. Vimes said things like: 'he(Fred) was a nobody'; when asked what rule fred broke he said 'I dont do rules'. He eventually said that it was for rudeness, but fred wasnt really rude, no more rude than most players in the chat.
Is this worth going anywhere with?

I saw {{novandal}} and {{gemw2}} on recent changes a lot and if I use them it's wrong. And in cases that I warn some1, other would report that to the CVU and some admins would even block. Yeah, I know this was an old subject, but I found that a more efficient way is to put a bookmark in the bookmarks bar (Star in the URL box in Firefox, + button in Safari, etc.). That way you don't even have to first go to RuneScape Wikia! Just a thought though.

In the "what editor review is" section, you talked about people reviewing regular users, admins, and crats equally. I was thinking of removing it because, to be honest, nobody's going to be review equally, because we're all different editors with different contributions. What do you think? Gaz Lloyd, I know it may be annoying, but I found a problem in my Experience table... The Hiscore rank, it shows opposite values (+ instead of -), so PLEASE could we change that the difference between ParseHiscore codes bigger than 1 would write minus and smaller than 1 would write plus. The colors are also a problem... so when the difference between the codes is bigger than 1, it would write the text in red and the same thing with the difference smaller than 1... You could set it on pages User:DrugedSheep/Stats/Hiscores and User:DrugedSheep/Stats/Hiscores/Colors
I wouldn't mind that I will have to copy the lite Hiscores twice. Thank you very much.

- I found a problem, BUT I got rid of it : ) In the Overall row you forgot to put {{formatnum: before the {{ParseHiscoreData so the numbers were moved 4 cells left... And in the Fishing row you forgot to close the command (putting a }} at the end) but I repaired it.

I'm making a page on runecrafting training, and there are a couple of templates I'd like to make, as there is a ridiculous amount equations on the page. The template I'd like would take: {{CostCraft:TYPE|LEVEL|Yes or No}} and output the cost/profit of crafting one essence/pure essence at that level either with or without the lumbridge achievment diary ring. Is there, that you know of, a version of the switch function that you can put further switch functions in? i.e. if mind, check is level more than 14? Also can I just create this template by creating a page with the necessary code under /wiki/template:CostCraft ?

[edit] Woodcutting eucalyptus
Since yesterday I've constantly been woodcutting eucalyptus trees, and getting about 48k xp/hour (I actually timed an hour and got the xp). I have 80 woodcutting and I use a dragon hatchet. Is the xp rate much higher for you? Also, good luck with 99 there, I might go for it as well. It's a very easy and effortless 48k xp and 105k cash per hour. 04:27, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Don't forget to separate everything with a semicolon if you use style for signatures, including the last one. For example:
<span style="color:red; background-color:red;">Hai2u</span>
You weren't adding a semicolon after the last one. While this isn't a terribly big deal it's better to be safe than sorry.

[edit] Signing without any hyphens
I did some researching and I found that making a signature button sign without hyphens is really easy. All you need to do is create this page:

With regards to the drop tables, I know of a method that could be used to make 95% certainty ranges, but it would require the ability to use the newton raphson method to find numerical solutions to very high order (same as number of drops) polynomials. - I think you're right, though this is just a gut instinct, I believe that there are only around 5 different numbers of coins that are dropped by goblins (5,15, 25, 20, 50 ?).
