thanks for the help. i kinda cloned your set up witch i assume is the right way of doing it. but the diffrence is i put the auto update code on my hiscores page, and i was wondering if that was okay.

also on the stat input page thats used for music and quest points im not sure i got the time part of the code right.

as for the combat level i was wondering if i could use the combat template to auto calculate the combat level + summoning lvl. or to auto calculate just my combat level without summoning and have a + and calculate just my summoning anyway so i dont have to update it and only have a template code on my stat input page.

i was also wondering why on the stat page why the code seems to repeat. and i dont mean the level and xp part of the code i understand that but it has two "#switch" codes.

and can you show me an example code for each minigame that is ranked that i think would go on stat page.

well i mirrored your method because you don't have to have the template your user page, you just link it. i like that cause it keeps the code smaller and easier to read.

the user name showed anytime i have the autoupdate template code above the template code that links to my infobox. i didn't want the HS autoupdate template code on my user page cause i didnt want to the user name to show cause it shows blue and i don't like that. but i didn't try it at the end of the page like you have it. so that works out.

• as far as the |sep}} code i don't plan on using it out side of the infobox or goals. so if you could clean that up.

I'm fine either way, really. Now that you've restored my faith in templates, I have another suggestion, albeit a small one: Make a template that divides by 0 and produces a real number as a result. Or, failing that, could this {{T|ToCLeft}} template be adapted to a {{ToC|Left}} {{ToC|Right}} thing that defaults to "left" if no input or invalid input is provided? Hi, sorry I haven't replied to your post/come back to the wiki as promised. I'm kinda overly busy and RS is unbelievably good at time sucking, so I probably won't come back in the near future. I'd love to keep updated on the calcs though, see how javascript boosts them along an all. Oh, and if there are critters that seem to drop randomly sized piles of shizzle, I guess we could just write that down on the table and record their drops the old fashioned way. My results were somewhat polerized, As in double maths A2 and physics AS, and a E in chemistry and a D in philosophy. But retakes will sort all that out, how did you do?, good luck getting those calcs all going..

On the page RuneScape:Votes for deletion/File:File-Noobcalling.png, when I offered my genuine opinion, Chiafriend12 said: You know that we have an article with "bitch", "fuck", "shit", "penis", "cunt", "nigger" and "anal sex" on it, right? We had a vote where we decided that we, as a community, liked to eat kindergarteners and wouldn't worry about offending people. :P I am afraid that I do not quite understand his point, though I am a little disturbed by this, and, well, by him. I don't know this user well, but I've met rather few players on RuneScape would use such language. Jagex has become more lenient, of course, but I advise him to be more careful, because its rules still hold firm and remain mostly unchanged. I mean, yeah, everyone curses once in a while, but, like, calling someone a 'nigger'? That's just racist, if nothing else. Is he suggesting that he could call someone that, go all 'lmao', and get away with it? Isn't using such language to an extreme or threatening point, nearing that of unlawful nature, even online? Like, seriously, "eat kindergarteners"? Wtf? What kind of sickening person is he? I'm really sorry if I'm going a little too extreme, but even on the wikia clan chat, which I participate in, I rarely find users so...disgusting. Maybe it's just me, maybe I just don't know him that well, but,...I don't know... I mean, it just seems childish, if nothing else, for him to voice such a response just for the deletion of an article, just because I said, yeah, we should delete the image? I rather think it odd for him to be an administrator, no matter how many edits he has here, if his behavior becomes disruptive. P.S. Well, as the user in question has not even responded yet to Caleb's message, I rather doubt that even if I freaking want to talk with him this moment, that he would respond. I really didn't want to raise a big issue of this whole thing. I mean, look at what the swearing forum (or forums) caused, lol. You still didn't explain well, Gaz: Does that mean I could fill my messages with all the profanity I wanted to if they were not specifically directed towards you? It was, of course, not necessary at all to come to you, as perhaps better measures existed then, but neither was it so for him. Doubtless my limited number of edits and my plain signature made him believe that he, as an experienced administrator, would say whatever s*** he wanted to me and not care. This isn't really allowed on RuneScape, itself, you know, no matter what changes they have made to their chat filter in the recent months. Look, I know its just getting seriously f***ed up to ramble on about something as awkward as this, but if you guys aren't at all offended, then why ban the vandals who insert those words into random pages? This is just hypocrisy, yo... besides, you're only one of out of like, two or three users, I've asked about this, I seriously think a few others might be of more similar opinion as mine. For instance, how were the forums about Wikia Swearing brought up in the first place? I had nothing to do with it, yet there were still many users who argued about the matter, and many forums about it. Well, I certainly would understand it if he lacks Internet access, as I have been in such a situation many times in the past, but from his edit to Pearl bolts at 23:49, October 27, 2009, which is some time after Caleb's message, I believe that he may really just not be keen to speak with me, either. Certainly you may consider it a terribly small offence, in comparison with his numerous edits, but I was particularly offended by his comment. At first, for instance, I just did not understand the "eating" kingergarteners part, and Psyko Robot's later explanations only disturbed me more, actually, as I did not really understand his words either, though the I was really unsure what to make of the context,as such thoughts had not quite occurred to me. Despite his bizarre attempt to make humor from such words, perhaps I would considerably less insulted had he not added the term, nigger to his long string of curses, which he apparently deemed to merit great amusement for us both. I am most grateful for taking the time to try to explain to me this situation, Gaz, but I fear I must be more direct this time: Such language used in, like, a non-cyber environment, in the real world, in other words, may truly lead to situations that would doubtless prove difficult to defuse, even, I fear, to one with the powers of a wikia administrator. I will not indignify us both by stating my own ethnic roots, but that is only because I think doing so would be exceedingly pointless and even irrelevant, at least in this case. Nonetheless, I am confused: Could I call anyone here that and get away with it as well? Is such open racism an example of a personal attack, and may merit some counter-action? Very well, Llyod, I shall take your suggestions into consideration. I am grateful, however, that you at least understand the need for more users to evaluate this issue. If I have sounded somewhat blunt, I ask for your pardon, but let's just say I have seriously toned down my own thoughts on this matter, and I have tried to resolve this issue as civilly as I can. At the very least, even if this entire issue should be completely forgotten, surely such comments, even if (and I place emphasis on if) they are completely valid, are not relevant to the topic of deleting a mere pointless image? As I have said myself many weeks ago on one of the few forums I participated in, I truly am not a generally social person (at least on this wiki). I tried to contribute more to the community, and look at where it got me. Insulted. Ridiculed, actually. I don't need his help to understand the wiki rules and policies better, and even if his help should have been appreciated, at least some parts of it were sure signs of rather uncharacteristic immaturity for a sysop, and should be left on a talk page more suitably than on a community discussion focused on merely the deletion of an image? The very point of that page was to put in your input and opinion, not to arrogantly list a group of seriously offensive curses and basically say, Yeah, lol, as a community, we like to eat kindergarteners, wtf's your problem? Do I find the word 'noob' offensive? So I figured I'd drop another can of worms in your lap for you to sort out, dissect, and re-assemble into some kind of horrible giant Frankenworm. I figured I should stop being lazy and implement the whole citations thing, as the thread has been inactive for a while and no opposition has come up. I figured for the implementation there could be templates for parts of the website which need to be cited. I was thinking one for each of the following: the forums, the Game Guide, dev blogs, news posts, postbags from the hedge, and god letters. They would all be pretty much the same, and from what I know about templates, fairly simple to make (I just don't know the syntax...)

Excellent >_> I had a crazy idea a while back... what if we made a category of pages with references in them, and order them by the last retrieval date (we can change to Verification date...) and if references get out of date, we could go to the pages, verify that the references are still valid, then delete the old date and add ~~~~~ again! Yes, I like the "added once its older than a month" idea fine. However the forums wouldn't really be relevant since those would all be cited using webcitation.org. Now that I think about it is there any way we could detect references that contain "services.runescape.com/m=forum"? Then we would have a list of all thread references which need to be archived. Secondly, how do I add in the category determiners? Just paste them in after the last }? Also, upon seeing the citation list in the test page, I'm starting to think that perhaps linking the citations isn't the best idea, cos if someone cites a bunch of forum threads, then RuneScape forums will be linked over and over. Also what if someone cites the forums on the RuneScape Forums page? It'd be turned bold, right? I'm thinking that in the end, people who look at references (lets be frank, not many people will) are already gonna know what Postbags form the Hedge are, and even if they don't, the source would always be alluded to in the page itself, like "Jagex said in the Forums that blah blah blah", thus rendering an additional link in the actual reference page unnecessary. Hey Gaz I'm happy to say after around two hours of my eyes getting steadily squintier, I finally finished getting all the + signs into your armour table. Huzzah! Also, I was wondering if there was any kind of comparison page where you can compare armour and different combinations of armour right next to each other. It would be an awesome tool for people like me trying to find the best balance between cheap and effective.

The exact same syntax that worked just fine for the steel bars fails to work for Mithril bars and up. I've had a problem with the potion pages for a while now, just look at Super restore, its got 4 GE prices crammed into one field, and only 1 high alch value possible. As such, I'm about to put that template up for discussion on the yew grove (I've implemented it on a sample page here), but I have a couple questions about it: 1. would it be best to have users provide the secondary ingredients and herb, or Should that be hard coded into the template and should the only input provided be the potion name, and 2. The Curious Case of Statius Button one might say. All the old inventory sprites for Statius's Equipment are showing up in the Wanted file list, despite the fact that they are, as far as I can tell, completely unused. The only possible explanation I can come up with for this is that they were once all used on Template:Infobox Set, but I replaced them all there on the same day that I replaced them everywhere else. I've noticed an issue with the Template:POH room. It has a room called "Dungeon corridor" and a room called "Dungeon", but that's not a very good system! Is there any way it can be modified to have two new rooms, "Dungeon junction" and "Dungeon stairs"? It seems silly not to have them! There will be no consequences for removing "Dungeon" from the actual template, except that current uses of the room will no longer automatically be coloured orange. At least that's what I've been able to surmise.

Also, could there also be a room called "None" or "Spacer" which has no border, background, or label, and is the same size as a room (I believe its 100x100px)? I am trying to create a side-by-side comparison of levels, but its proving difficult because I need to have something (like a spacer!) to push levels down to where they appear in reality. Its hard to explain, but look at my House plan. The top two levels need to be pushed one "room" down so the Throne room lines up with the Oubliette. Haha just kidding, no template help needed. I need your opinion on something. Parsonsda recently uploaded this file of the new NPC, Kuradal. He claimed to have taken the screenshot himself[3][4][5], but I deleted it because I strongly suspected it off being taken from the cache. The reasons I suspected this was because it was in the same robotic, statue pose that the cache model was in. Second, the lighting was unnatural and would not be found in the slayer tower where he claimed to have taken the screenshot. The lighting in the slayer tower is dark and would not produce the glare found on her shoulder pad unless she were standing next to a torch, in which case she would be lit up in orange. Thirdly and most importantly, the anti-aliasing artefacts clearly visible on her cheek, the slayer cape's pad, and under her chin, do not match the slayer tower background, but they perfectly match the cache model background seen here. LOL ANOTHER TEMPLATE REQUEST! Hopefully this one is fast though, only 2 fields. Discussion is here. Also upon using the citations for a while, I've thought of a couple things. Firstly, showing the retrieval date is not really necessary, is there some way that it could be hidden, and a small notification shows up when it goes out of date, perhaps a red asterisk? It accomplishes 2 things - streamlines the references and makes it easy to identify which reference needs verifying, since currently if there are a lot of references, its hard to determine which one may be out of date. Secondly, I think the CitePostbag and CiteGodLetter templates need to have another field to identify which of the letters is being cited... such as "Letter 1", "Letter 2" etc. There could also be a "Forward" and "Afterward" too, to cover things found in the lower parts of the letter (if you have better names for them, go ahead and use em). You could do it on just one of em and I could look at the diff to see how to apply it to the others. What do you think?

The way I see it, the quote feature should only be added to the CiteNPC template, because with all the other templates, you can just follow a link and be where you can read it. With the NPC template, it may be difficult or impossible to go and talk with the NPC in question (if it was a quest NPC who died or whatever). This is a big one, I tell you whut! Hell it may even be the biggest template emergency of all time! Its got to do with the GE template series, there's a problem where anyone can corrupt a lot of the uses by manipulating ascii characters to produce error messages that cascade to affect individual pages. Now, ordinarily something as simple as a revert would be for repairing what was lost, but this method "subst"s all the uses on all the pages, meaning that they all need to be salvaged manually, its quite a problem! There was an insident in chat a few days ago (see User talk:Quarenon#Is action needed? for more details of it) and as Runescape:Clan Chat doesn't state what to do when someone starts rule breaking (other than reporting, which isn't the most helpful statement as people can already think to report them.) I had decided to ask someone what to do on the matter so it could be added to the clan page, after getting the basics from Quarenon, he stated that I get the insight of another admin, as he doesn't frequently go in the clan, and as you're one of the few admins I know off hand I thought to ask you. Anyways if you could get back to me on how this is handled I'd really like to have a punishment section to the clan chat so other people know what to do in this to the chat page so others don't need to know how to handle it when it's happening and are unable to find anything about it on the wiki.
