[edit] About My Quest CheckList

Words displayed in the color blue is a link to another article (page) that goes into more detail, or a relevant website. However, to keep from navigating from the current article that you're reading, such as this one, it's best to right-click on the link, and then left-click on either "Open (Link) in New Tab" or "Open (Link) in New Window", depending upon what web browser you are using.

For Players who are interested in completing all, or at least most, of the Quests available in RuneScape, it's sorted in the order I personally recommend doing them, depending upon the Quest's difficulty (according to RuneScape's website, and then RuneScape Wiki's), overall Gameplay importance and rewards, and the Quest's requirements (including other Quests).

Below also includes commonly required and recommended Items to do many Quests, along with each of the Achievement Diarys and even Miniquests, and I tried making this checklist as "printer-friendly" as possible, not including any Quest links for each Quest in the checklist. If you are looking for Quest information, I recommend you visit the List of quests. Also, if you'd like to see other detailed Quest information, I highly recommend visiting these websites below:

More often than enough, if a website doesn't explain a problem you're having while doing a Quest, one of the others will. If you're using a tabbed web browser such as Internet Explorer 7+ or Mozilla Firefox, it's a good idea to have a tab opened for the Quest you're doing on each of these websites.

If you'd like to print-out this checklist, simply select what Quests you'd like to print by dragging your mouse while holding the left-click button, click on "Print", and select "Selection" in the print window to only print what you selected. Or you could just print the entire page. You may also copy and paste the Wiki code into your own User Page, and create your own Quest Checklist like I have towards the bottom of this Discussion (User Talk) page.

[edit] Quest Order

Here's the order in which deems a Quest more important than other Quests:

1. Quest difficulty categorized by Jagex at http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewcategory.ws?cat_id=7 in terms of "Novice", "Intermediate", "Expert", "Master", and "Grandmaster". However, there were a couple of P2P Quests that I had to move to a different difficulty category, usually because it depended upon a much harder Quest to be at least partially completed first in order to do that Quest. Also, what levels determine difficulty rating is somewhat hard to categorize, however, here's my interpretation of the required individual Combat and non-combat Skill Levels:
  • Novice: 1 - 39
  • Intermediate: 40 - 59
  • Experienced: 60 - 79
  • Master: 80 - 91
  • Grandmaster: 92 - 99
Since RuneScape's level system starts from Level 1 and the maximum Level is 99, then I would highly recommend raising most of your individual Combat and non-combat Skill Levels to the recommended requirements listed above before starting the more difficult Quests. For example, if you've completed all of the Novice Quests and would like to start doing Intermediate Quests, then I recommend raising most, if not all, of your Combat and other non-combat Skills to at least Level 40 before starting any of the Intermediate Quests. But, that's just my suggestion. Also, if your Skills are a difficulty rating higher than what's recommended, you'll notice that completing these Quests are usually far easier and quicker to complete, but the rewards seem insignificant. So, if both your combat and non-combat skills are in the "Experienced" category, you'll find that doing the Intermediate Quests easy and quick to complete.
2. How important the Quest is according to RuneScape Wiki at http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/P2p#Recommended_members_quests. Most of these Quests usually open new Skills, areas, and Equipment to the Player not available until these Quests are completed; however, may be more difficult to complete than the other Quests listed underneath it. So, be prepared! Consider ALL F2P (Free-to-play) Quests extremely important, since some other Quests depend upon them being completed!
3. If other Quests in the same difficulty category depend upon other Quests to be completed first. Can't complete Quest "B" until Quest "A" is completed first! Usually, most Quests are easier to complete than the Quests that depend upon them to be completed, but not always.
4. How difficult the remaining quests are rated, according to RuneScape Wiki's List of quests. I tried putting all of the five stars towards the bottom in each difficulty category, and the one and two stars towards the top.
5. How long a quest takes. I personally prefer doing shorter Quests first over longer Quests, and most often, longer Quests depend upon the easier, shorter Quests to be completed first. Here's the estimated times to complete most Quests. Of course, this is factoring how much you enjoy reading the dialogs and storyline, that you either already have most of the common Quest items needed or quickly purchase the rest of them from the Grand Exchange versus collecting them, etc.:
  • Very, Very Short: Less than 30 minutes
  • Very Short: About 30 Minutes to 1 Hour
  • Short: About 1 Hour
  • Short-Medium: About 1 and 1/2 Hours
  • Medium: About 1 to 2 Hours
  • Medium-Long: About 2 and 1/2 Hours
  • Long: About 3 to 4 Hours
  • Very Long: 4 to 8 Hours
  • Very, Very Long: 8+ Hours
6. The remaining Quests that all fall within all the above guidelines are lastly alphabetically listed. Sometimes, several Quests are of about the same importance and difficulty rating, so not much else you can do but alphabetize them!

The more, various ways you can teleport and transport around the world of RuneScape, the faster you can complete Quests.

[edit] Achievement Diarys

I highly recommend to at least add or start each and every Achievement Diary possible, even if you have no plans of ever doing or completing any of them. The reason why is because many of the tasks involved are common tasks many of us do for Training and Level our various Skills, and also Questing. I unknowingly completed many of the Varrock's Achievement Diary's Easy Tasks simply because I was already Training and Leveling various Skills or doing a Quest in the area. Always at least start all of the Achievement Diary you have access to as soon as a new one is published from Jagex, and if you train and Level your Skills, or complete Quests in the area for a while, you may "accidentally" complete many of the required tasks from the Achievement Diary as well.

[edit] Earning Daily Or Weekly Experience Or Coins

Many Quests and Achievement Diarys allow you to either earn Experience, or Items that you can either use or sell for Coins at the Grand Exchange on a daily or weekly basis. Check out Ongoing Quest Rewards and the Achievement Diary set for details.

[edit] Miniquests

Although Miniquests don't give you any additional Quest points for completing them, they do often give you extra rewards, whether it be Skill Experience, Equipment or Item(s), and/or unlocking a new ability or area. Never a bad idea to also complete most Miniquests, since you never know when the extra rewards may come in handy.
