About time you archived, anyway I plan on doing the kebbit tracks like this, satisfactory?
Also, your image on your buyout has an error, at first you bought the bones for 3,263, and then sold it for 2,255. So you actually lose money there, you might want to rethink that.
-- Cire04Talk 01:29, April 29, 2012 (UTC)
I just noticed the changes to the CTI you made on February 2012... aack!!! The CTI graph is still showing the old calculations. *embarrased* It has been awhile but I was wondering how you came up with the value of 23.9435? I'm assuming you used the price as of 12-Feb-12 for the new additions (i.e. 424800 for Abyssal whip).
The adjusted image shows the CTI peaking at 210 plus... wow?!
Are you sure the formula is correct, or am I missing something? aztalk 23:01, May 3, 2012 (UTC)
How about if we change the base date to 8 February 2008 (from December 2007 I think), and recalculate the CTI? It's much simpler to keep track of the prices and the items and the divisor can be reset to 27. Agree? aztalk 07:34, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
No... It won't actually change the shape of the graph from before your adjustment on February. The graph looks the same actually once I changed the base date of the new items, and adjusted the divisor. However, the CTI value will be slightly lower. Check out the latest revision of the CTI image and compare it with the last 2-3 revisions.
If you still insist, I will have to modify AzBot. (>_<) By the way, check out Grand Exchange Market Watch/FAQ. *grin* aztalk 20:26, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
The second-to-last one uses the adjusted CTI formula for all the data. This is definitely wrong, since the divisor has changed for the old data, and new items have been added in. This is why I needed a formula which would work for both the old items and the new items. So I decided to move the base date forward by a few months and start a "new" index with the new items. (Some of the new items only have data from February 2008 onwards.)
AzBot creates the graphs using built-in formulas to plot the graph, but if you want me to keep the pre-adjustment data, I need to store them somewhere. I will work on that later. But for now, I think this CTI graph will have to suffice. aztalk 20:52, May 4, 2012 (UTC)
I hadn't noticed the graph API calls gave accurate information. I've been using the category API calls because it meant fewer page requests. Given the accuracy, I'll change my bot to use the graph API. My bot was originally written as a backup bot, so it only updated an exchange price if it needed updating and no other bot updated for over 2 days. I might switch it back to that mode again (just in case the other bots go down). Amauricetalk 18:05, May 7, 2012 (UTC)
http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/User:Joeytje50/SoF?oldid=5578961 and http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/User:Joeytje50/SoF?oldid=5578960 do show a difference between the results, most notably in the medium and small lamps. I don't think this is because bought tickets have a different win percentage though, I just think it's based on luck here. It could also be bound to the person. I think there are a lot of variables that affect the SoF, more than we could ever find and put in a formula, but if we collect enough data (few thousand :P) we can get fairly accurate data for the average percentages. JOEYTJE50TALK 20:38, May 7, 2012 (UTC)
About the rewards of the SoF, I'm starting to think there is an equal chance of getting any type of pickaxe, for example, but it depends on your level. That means we could merge the different types of pickaxe (and other items), under one line of "Pickaxe". We are not sure from what level you can get certain metals, but I do think it is completely level-based, and the chances are equal for all metals. Same applies to raw fish, ranging armour, (cross)bows, arrows, and ores. I think gems, runes, logs, and lucky items are unaffected by your level. I suspect the lamps' types (small/med/large/huge) are not affected either, but they could be affected too. The skill-specific lamps are affected by levels too. JOEYTJE50TALK 10:17, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
BTW, when transferring those bought spins to my /SoF log, did the people note if it was 10k or 50gp? It seems unlikely to me that there was one reward of 10k in all those spins. JOEYTJE50TALK 17:34, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
hey, as you know quite some stuff about laws and things like that, do you think Wikia can claim that fixing the search is to "block, remove, or otherwise obstruct the proper functioning and view of advertisements, and/or user interface and functionality by other users"? And if they could claim that it is indeed removing the functionality of the search, would adding a button before the current button (like in monobook, a go and a search button) be okay? Then people would still have the full functionality right? In other words, is there any way we could abuse a loophole to get this search thing to work well again, while still officially not breaking the TOU? JOEYTJE50TALK 10:51, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
The same is being discussed on a central staff blog. No one has yet pinpointed the part where it forbids alterations, but that's just asking for wikia to change the ToU. Cåm 19:21, May 14, 2012 (UTC)
On a legal level, Wikia would be fully entitled (and likely) to revert the fix under the terms you quoted above. Additionally, were we to discover and manipulate a loophole in this (of which I cannot find), Wikia, like nearly every other corporation, company etc. also reserves the right to, at their sole discretion "change, modify, add, or delete portions of this Agreement at any time and without further notice", meaning we'd be fighting a losing battle. As everyone already knows, Wikia's sole motivation behind demanding that wikis revert their changes to the search update is to make sure they can leech as much money as they can from ads that are displayed on results pages, and because of this they would almost certainly make sure we (being one of their biggest earners) maximised their profit, i.e. making sure we don't try and skirt around ads. I don't think we need to put ourselves in an unnecessarily risky position just yet - we should wait and see what the next proposed search update turns out like. RonanTalk 19:53, May 14, 2012 (UTC)

Andrew has made it you can change your password. It is a little different to configure than the normal one he originally used but here is what you do:
in the chat window type:
setpass XXXXXX
the XXXXXX will come up automatically so no one standing behind you can see the password
then it prompts you to retype the password incase you misspelt it.
It will then change your password.
NOTE: only type 'setpass' not setpassword or passwordset etc. some commands can be seen in the open and then your password would be revealed.
To write in rainbow text use "@ran@ xxxxxxx"
to write colored text use "@red@ xxxxxxx", @cya@, @gre@, @yel@, @bla@, @blu@, @whi@, @ora@
to tell someone anywhere in game use "tell playername xxxxxxxxx" example: "tell Silverion I have 20 coal free for you" "

Uh, hi Cook and other recent changes stalkers. I made my last planned edit here on 25 June, to my user page. However, after being alerted of new messages on my talk page (which disappointedly ended up being just maintenance), I noticed my edit count was considerably higher than I remembered (I never quite hit 7k edits before having to take my leave). So I checked my contributions to find where those thirty edits came from, and found that, for some reason, there was a number of edits to beta namespace pages that were attributed to me (examples: Beta:Sling and Beta:Vanguard gloves).
The edit summaries certainly sound like they're mine, and the edits are all the source pages copied over (with the exception of a few blank "doubles"). How were the beta pages created? Was the last revision copied and for whatever reason, the last author had an extra edit added? Just curious, and yeah, hola. HofmicTalk 07:13, July 1, 2012 (UTC)

Your edits have been sustaining a rate of 15 edits per minute on average for an entire hour. According to RuneScape:AutoWikiBrowser#Regulations, a user shouldn't flood (human edits in) RecentChanges at a rate of more than 5 per minute on a non-bot account and should hop to their bot account for high-powered edits.
I believe you have CookBot for this sort of thing.
The Government of the United States having violated in the most flagrant manner and in ever increasing measure all rules of neutrality in favor of the adversaries of Germany and having continually been guilty of the most severe provocations toward Germany ever since the outbreak of the European war, provoked by the British declaration of war against Germany on September 3, 1939, has finally resorted to open military acts of aggression.
On September 11, 1941, the President of the United States publicly declared that he had ordered the American Navy and Air Force to shoot on sight at any German war vessel. In his speech of October 27, 1941, he once more expressly affirmed that this order was in force. Acting under this order, vessels of the American Navy, since early September 1941, have systematically attacked German naval forces. Thus, American destroyers, as for instance the Greer, the Kearney and the Reuben James, have opened fire on German sub-marines according to plan. The Secretary of the American Navy, Mr. Knox, himself confirmed that-American destroyers attacked German submarines.
Furthermore, the naval forces of the United States, under order of their Government and contrary to international law have treated and seized German merchant vessels on the high seas as enemy ships.
The German Government therefore establishes the following facts:
Although Germany on her part has strictly adhered to the rules of international law in her relations with the United States during every period of the present war, the Government of the United States from initial violations of neutrality has finally proceeded to open acts of war against Germany. The Government of the United States has thereby virtually created a state of war.
The German Government, consequently, discontinues diplomatic relations with the United States of America and declares that under these circumstances brought about by President Roosevelt Germany too, as from today, considers herself as being in a state of war with the United States of America.
Accept, Mr. Cook Me Plox, the expression of my high consideration.
I was going to write a new post on your talk page about your spamming of Recent Changes. However, I find it's more efficient to simply refer you to this existing section of your talk page. Just mentally change the date.
Officially speaking, I'm growing awfully tired of this. Please use your bot account for spam edits. I see no reason why you in particular should be entitled to the ability to spam Recent Changes with rapid non-bot edits. --Andorin(Talk)(Contribs) 06:51, August 19, 2012 (UTC)
What is the negative impact? It kills the ability of anyone to watch Recent Changes while you're flooding it. In no way is there an efficient method to watch Recent Changes while you're spamming it with hundreds or thousands of edits per hour. We have bot flags for this very reason, and I don't see why you in particular should be an exception here.
You claim to not be using AWB? First, due to the rapid and sustained pace of your edit spamming, I doubt you are making all of these edits manually. Second, the fact that edit limits apply only to AWB users is a mere technicality. The wiki has an interest in preventing a single user from dominating Recent Changes with spam edits, regardless of how they make those edits. Again, that's why we have bot flags. Why is it difficult for you to log into CookBot and use it for spam editing, leaving the rest of us in peace? --Andorin(Talk)(Contribs) 21:16, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

I just joined the Wiki and was talking about updated much of the Advanced_trading_guide, but somebody in the Chat linked me to your guide, and I am very interested in it. I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions:
Firstly, are you planning on ever incorporating this guide into an actual wiki page? Until I became a user and was actually directed to it by another person, I had never seen it. At the least, you could see about adding a link to it in the Advanced Trading Guide.
Secondly, I was wondering if I could assist in the writing of the guide. I have about six years of merchanting experience and could provide a lot of insight in how to squeeze out some extra profit and what kind of items are good for the different areas of merchanting.
Anyways, thanks for your consideration -- I have one specific idea for your guide that I'd love for you to look at; I'll add that to its discussion page.

Of the 4 scryers I messaged, 3 replied, all with positive attitudes to contributing to lores on the wiki. One was rather preoccupied with life atm, another didn't want to give a definitive answer on helping due a clan restructuring soon that may take up most of their time. By far the most interesting response was from Robo Hobo. Apparently he had an idea for a points system relating to ranking in the clan based on creating and maintaining lore articles on the lores wiki. He seemed to think the idea could pretty well to here, meaning we could end up with a whole host of scryers editing here. I have yet to hear back from the last, but he's a little tricky to get hold of anyway. Cåm00:29,14/10/2012 (UTC)

It also allows for preloading a custom page should you want to. Handy, no? Compared to the preloaded templates we currently have, these are a vast improvement. the 'Show list of used templates' doesn't even load for me. Whether it contains something I've no idea.
I've started a list of templates that have a decent amount of parameters here with a vague attempt at categorising them a little better than 'infobox' largely based on Category:Infobox templates. Please do not edit other users' userpages on the RuneScape Wiki, as per this policy. If it was your userpage, please log in before editing to avoid uncertainty over whether the edits are what the owner wants. However, a few exceptions can be made. You may edit another user's userpage:
... if you notice anything obviously rule-breaking on a user page (crude photos, messages that may be harmful to someone else or anything that breaks one of Jagex's rules). If you are unsure if the content breaks a rule, contact another user to check it out.
... if editors are given permission by the author to edit the page. This includes guestbooks and some sandboxes.
... to revert vandalism.
Any other edits may be reverted if we think they may not be the page owner's, and if they appear to be vandalism you may be blocked from editing the RuneScape Wiki. Thank you. Michagogo (talk) 08:46, October 24, 2012 (UTC)

Found some dpl code that can be used for calcs from Forum:Category Intersection. It seems {{#dpl: should be used rather than tags. The problem is the difference between the two. If I was to use tags:

Hey Cook. I hate eoc and so I don't want to make money with combat any more. So I figured I'd go back to merchanting, since I had moderate success with it. But then I realized that most of what I used were combat-related. And since eoc fucked all the shit, I was wondering—if you still do merchanting—if you had some advice for what's good to do. I'm looking to see if anyone can quantify the invisible damage boost that staves hold over wands. I was hopeing you could help me in finding any hard empirical data to support this? I have scoured the wikia and any article that hints to this doesn't give me anything more than hear say.
You have come highly recomended by fello wikia editors and have been described to be knowledgable in this field.
Seeing how well you managed to predict the fate of the fish mask, I must again turn to you for help, regarding the "smuggled in" rare that was never actually announced as a rare, at least not nearly as much as the fish mask, the christmas tree hat. Currently, the street price for both that and the purple present is 20m. Do you think it will hold that for at least some time, or even rise for a bit? Since file talks are rarely used (at least that's what I think) the policy was instated as a safeguard in case something like this ever happened. Even before the proposal I cannot recall such a case. And common sense is used in some policies and the definition of common sense in those policies are universal. In this case, if a file gets rfd'd and the talk page contains a ton of spam, it would be better to delete it rather than preserve it. However if the talk page had some intelligent discussion in it it might be better to keep it. It depends on the situation. -- SpineTalk 03:32, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
As of now there isn't any that I am aware of. But there has to be at least one in the entire history of this wiki - and like I said - the policy is a safeguard in case such a thing happens (albeit unlikely at this time). -- SpineTalk 04:38, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
That's one harsh way to put it, but like I said above, I am unaware of any case that it happened; there is still a possibility it could happen, whether it be one minute or ten years from now. -- SpineTalk 04:52, January 10, 2013 (UTC)
hi there cook me plox, do you help around with quest guide information?
because im currently doing missing my mummy and this part caught my attention
Pray at each of the 'Broken statues' to restore them. Restoring each statue drains about 180-200 prayer points - 5/5, 4% completion each
However when i did it, i lost no more than 10-20 prayer points, im not sure if this information may be outdated or anything, and i dont think its cos of what im currently wearing for the quest
I was wondering, what exactly does the "Difference (Xp counting from prestige)" column in the Dungeoneering table represent // how is it calculated? (So I can add the appropriate value in the future). 83.101.44.209 17:11, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

I'm Jorge and I am on Wikia's Community Development Team. So, I'm sure you're a busy person and all that, but I wanted to contact you and some other trusted users about a potentially cool opportunity. I know it's a little vague, but we're bound by secrecy.
Anyway, Wikia is working closely with game and entertainment creators/folk and, based on your active participation all over Wikia, we thought you'd be a great contributor. Are you open to working with us and other Wikia Community members in coming up with ideas for our programs? You'd be invited to join developer round-tables, co-author quizzes and other content, and maybe be invited to the Wikia offices in June (we would fly you out of course).
I know it's pretty vague, but I think it's a cool opportunity. If you're interested, are 18 or over, think you can be free to travel around late may to early June, can commit to some cool stuff this summer, and feel comfortable signing an Non-Disclosure Agreement and all that, then I can put you on our list of interested folk and we can be in touch with more details in the future.
Anyway, let me know when you can by shooting me an email to jorge[at]]wikia-inc.com. Jorge (profile)•(talk) 21:10, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
Instead of generating a sequence and then checking if it's plausible, shouldn't we generate it on the fly, each time choosing from a list of possible actions, and ending with a complete drain of the bar? Bluefire2Talkedit my sigchange this signature! 21:56, April 8, 2013 (UTC)
I'm going to have limited internet for the next couple of days. Worry not, I am actively developing the program, and as such would like to ask you a couple of questions:
When the player is using dual weapons, is is possible for an autoattack to be performed between the 3 tick interval between abilities?
On the topic of weapons, what model weapons should we use for the 3 attack styles?
What are we assuming about the defence bonuses of the target, the ammo in the case of ranged and the spell in the case of magic?
Do you want the logic to be open source? I can easily place it on an external PHP page if you want to protect it.
Finally, can you give me the average hit data for the abilities?
Hi Cook, did you get into the beta? Fansite staff were supposed to be allowed in and I didn't... So I was wondering if you or Ryan had. Also note that you may not have received the confirmation email, you have to try to log in to it to see. 14:16, April 18, 2013 (UTC)
After you mentioned it yesterday I did some digging, and largely the answer is no. It seems possible to prevent Yahoo! finding it, but google lacks this feature (mainly so people can't abuse it). The only thing I could think of was to load the Exchange data with js, but that would probably require a fair bit of rewriting, as well as adding some time to the pageload.
I had to resort to an ugly hack to get the data removed from pages in wikiamobile, so the script loading the data would be handy for that too. Cåm11:42, 19 Apr 2013 (UTC)
Is this some sort of comedy sketch? Or is there a 4chan competition to see who can produce the longest argument based on a misconception? Qloque (talk) 19:33, April 20, 2013 (UTC)
Just out of interest, are you going to argue until he accepts that he's wrong? I mean, you've proven him wrong numerous times, so that's the only reason I can see for arguing further. If so, you may be there for a long time. Are you sure you don't want to just "give in" and be done with it; I think that would be the more mature thing to do. This is really weird. I tried using your logic, and isValidRotation(["S"]) returns Error: slice has not cooled down. I went onto your replit, and it returns false even for the array you put in as a sample (which incidentally starts with "S"). About the armor stats: There's a thread on the RS forums that gives stats on practically any armor and weapon in the game! If you know basic statting with the EoC, you can use the thread to update most of the articles. Here's the QFC if you're interested: 15-16-439-64950997

I took a look at many in-game stats and they're exactly the same as on the thread, so the author most likely compiled the numbers from in-game items, rather than a formula. His lists should be safe. (Any items I'm unsure of I check on the GE.) Logialian (talk) 10:04, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, I've been busy due to exams. Anyway, I managed to scrape out some time, and right now I'm staring at my computer screen, which is showing me the horrible picture of all the icons being 30px by 30px. It really really really does look bad; I don't know why you want me to do this. I'm not saying this because I can't be bothered to code that; on the contrary, I've already done it, and I don't like what it looks like. Also, making the bar too wide cuts off half of the header. Here's a link; are you sure you don't want to change your mind?
P.S.: Don't worry about the preset box not being big enough, I'm still working out why it's like that (I haven't had much time, and I'm not that good at CSS). Bluefire2Talkedit my sigchange this signature! 18:46, May 13, 2013 (UTC)
I think I've figured out how to stop it happening. Take a loook at a search for pneumatic gloves. It has a chunk of data, but has nothing else from the infobox. Now look at another search for draconic jadinkos. It has nothing from the infobox, but has the first sentence that appears after the infobox. Why?
It's because google apparently ignores everything that isn't in a <p> tag. If it's in a table it ignores it. We can't see the data unless we turn turn javascript off entirely or use ?useskin=wikiamobile (Ryan removed the data stuff with CSS, but it's still there if you look at the page source). I'm not entirely sure about the div tags, but since the pneumatic gloves search doesn't have "Loading..." as the first word it might discount it as well. Essentially, if we can change the p tag the data is being loaded from into a table, google should ignore it. Cåm22:32, 14 May 2013 (UTC)

Added woodcutting level. The page for special mahogany logs says their chance is 2%, so it appears I indeed got lucky. If Cook can't calculate it properly with the info on 2%, I can do more tests. (: 18:17, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

Hunting swamp lizards: 2 inventories (26 lizards each trip); set up 4 traps at a time and left them there while I banked (they collapsed by the time I got back, but it allowed me more inventory space for the lizards); I chose the hunting spot with 4 young trees, which happened to be closest to the Canifis bank; no inputs; 7904 hunting xp, level 91; 11 minutes 58 seconds. 18:17, May 15, 2013 (UTC)

Good idea! I do indeed have access to the NIS alpha. Any idea if you can log into the NIS alpha at the same time as the real game (would be a perfect task to multi-task with). Any suggestions how many would be a good amount to aim for? 10k nests in total? Though for the log we still have to decide what kind of log we want to have; one for each type of nest separately (in which case one could argue for/against counting the egg nests as one type or not) + one for the average distribution of types of nests; or the global one I have created as a first suggestion. The latter can easily be split into the former, but the other way 'round isn't possible (validly) under all circumstances. Which reminds me, I think someone made a YT video once doing the same with hard clue caskets (in the EOC beta); too bad he never kept/shared his full log. 134.58.179.35 05:51, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
Yay! Her results are similar to my data =3 . Well, I'll see how much data I can collect over the weekend. I'll probably make a separate log page with that data, tho; until we combine all data together into one log. 134.58.179.35 06:16, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
Looks like my first idea fell through, can't play normal RS and NIS at the same time (as sorta feared). Guess I can't do it as a multi-tasking activity in LRC, drat. Anyhow ^^' ... IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 15:51, May 17, 2013 (UTC)
\o/ points at User:IP83.101.44.209/NIS Kingdom Data; altho I worked slightly different from the original suggestion. I withdrew from the kingdom in NIS, as to get a different selection of nests as well; and not just get data about nests seeds. I really wished I hadn't collected my Kingdom last week, though; would've made it much easier to get a lot of data. Will continue in a week, or perhaps two, when I have more days saved up. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 17:10, May 19, 2013 (UTC)
Ugh, but that'd require me to do a Barrows run on the main game xD . And I've heard that the 7th brother is rather painful in EOC. Besides, we'd have to agree on a kill count for the brothers as well as the monsters... Anything else, rather not-combat related, you want some data on? Perhaps I'll be more interested :P . I wonder if Jagex brings the NIS alpha to one beta with html5 (or that's what I remember them saying), if the separate save-world will remain or not... IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 04:19, May 20, 2013 (UTC)
My runs at looting barrows are done; and resulted in about 640 loots logged (still have to process most of them from screenshots to useable data; perfect for a multi-tasking occation). I'll make a page afterwards with a total summation of everything for you; and drop another note. Another something I considered for data gathering are the new Wishing well bushes; unfortunately I'm one Farming level short (as well as short on time till the next weekend).
