As per new UotM rules that you have ignored by adding oppose to my nomination, you've been blocked from editing the wiki for one week for a personal attack. Shit. I didn't mean to instantly cause controversy, but it appears that I have. Recently, someone (I haven't checked) added a policy which stated that anyone who voted oppose on the UotM page would be immediately blocked. Shortly before Chia voted oppose, I revised that policy and stated that the block would last a minimum of one week. I did this because I think that we need to take a strong stance to prevent further flame wars. Since Chia's oppose occurred soon after the policy was added and almost immediately after it was revised, and the policy is intended to prevent flames, which his vote was not, I think that giving Chia a warning and placing a temporary reminder on the top of the UotM page should suffice in this case, and help prevent confusion in the near future, however I will leave Chia's fate to Christine, as the attack was made on her.  ^GANGSTERLS   _talk00:08, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Tes, as the author of the policy, I fully support its statement that anyone who opposes a nomination for UotM will be blocked for a minimum of one week. This was implemented to address the pressing issue of flame wars in the voting. If you disagree with the policy and think that I was wrong to change it without universal agreement, I'd like to hear your suggestion to prevent flame wars and end the chaos on that page. Otherwise, I believe that the policy should remain, as flame wars should not be a recurring issue. I'm sure that everyone agrees with that point, at least. Also, if you had taken some time to evaluate the situation before intervening, you would have realized that the policy was changed ten minutes before Chia opposed, and although he was in clear violation of it, he was unaware of the changes when he voted. I took some liberty with the situation, and in an effort to solve any issues quickly, I gave my agreement to any decision Christine made regarding Chia's violation of the policy. I stand by her decision, as she was the one attacked. You were a late arrival on the case, and if you decide that a weeklong block is too harsh a punishment for Chia's offence and intervene, I will oppose your actions, and contact the bureaucrats and a staff member if necessary. I don't appreciate the strength of the policy bring undermined, as this policy needs to be as strict as it is. I think you're taking the new rule a little seriously. Actually, I don't think that rule belongs here anyway (running off to complain about it in a minute ^^). Think of how utterly boring the forums would be if we couldn't bring up anything besides runescape. I realize this wiki is for runescape, but it's got a community of friends on here. Something friends do is talk about, well, everything. Perhaps an "off topic" forum could be made for these things. But I'm not just here to talk solely about runescape. My offline supply of friends is limited, so it's nice to be able to talk about things besides runescape on here. I'm sure there are other people in my same predicament. This I know through talking to them about things other than runescape. Ojdude (gotta go rebuild my signature)

Sorry, someone in the irc (I think either Tesfan or Icecube022) told me it was Halopedia. Although I like Uncyclopedia, and I have my own account there, I hope you understand why those quotes needed to be deleted. The length wasn't really an issue, it was just really off-topic and involved people most of us don't know at all. No players were abusing names, which is why I was glad. When I first saw the quote, I thought that a bunch of RSWiki users had changed their nicks, because I couldn't recognize any of the nicks besides yours. Thankfully they weren't RSWiki users, because if they were they would have been abusing their nicks and violating the chat policy, and if you had allowed RSWiki users to abuse their nicks, you wouldn't have been doing your job =P but there weren't any policies broken, except that it was from another wiki. As you seem to be an excelent director and filmographer, I am willing to sell my story, The Tale of James, to you once it is finished. I ask for nothing much in return. All I ask is that you make me James, you can be director, and that you also give me credit in the end saying that this film was based on the story (link to my user sub page). Also, as many of us know, the Harry Potter film series (so far) has been dedicated entirely to the movie, sticking right next to the story line. However, when we look at the 1973 novel Tuck Everlasting and the 2002 movie, we see many differences. I'd like the movie to be example A, as close to the storyline as you can get. They take out more than "silly things", especially in those larger books. It' rare that you'll see a movie based on a book that hasn't taken out huge portions of the book. One exception is the Naria movie (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe). There were significant changes, but almost the entire book is there, with few exceptions. Oh and I would suggest maybe once we have a full book's length (well until my book is done) of text, we could decide. However, if there's going to be a lot of chapters (I think it'll be long) then we should put about 2 chapters in an episode, maybe 20 minute long videos. Each episode would be 10, then we could put in a sign (I know you have sufficiant videoing materials to go along with hypercam after those movies you made on youtube) that says "Chapter 1 - James" and "Chapter 2 - Fred the Farmer" and so on. Well you see by the rate I'm going it might take a couple months for me to finish and so we would be able to crunch each chapter into 10 minutes but the time spent on the filming, I can see, would be much, much more, perhaps 30 minutes on each chapter. Anyways, once we start filming I'll leave the technical work to you (you're the director =O) and as for scripts, we could post them on a special page we could create (perhaps a subpage) on the wiki. Then, users may (if they want) print them out or just keep 2 windows open at once. They could also memorize them. Anyways, that saves us time. In the begining of the book (first 2 chapters) there isn't but if it's that important that we don't modify the story too much then I could make it so that Danie and Elli will follow James around in the story, so the three of them will be together and then you could play Daniel (unless you'd rather be Elli =D). In the early scenes of the movie, I might be able to dress you up as farmer fred and Ned. but once we walk of the gangplank, I know the screen changes, you'll have the chance to switch to Daniel. We can't have 30 other people to act as the fellow 18 year olds but we can have 10 guest actors from the wiki who can be payed 3k each (we'll manage, besides who would refuse, you just stand there for 10 minutes that's easy money) to just stand in the boat. As for you taking me to Port Sarim in a wheel barrow, don't think it'll be happening. Rather I follow you. Anyways, we'll have to get close enough to the port for me to walk onto the gangplank without the audience being able to notice that I'm moving away from the camera. As for the boat ride, we could just stand on the boat (we'll find a boat on Port Sarim that works for our scene) for maybe 5 minutes but put it on fast forward. We can walk around wherever we want in that time but you, as the cameraman, will have to be facing the waves and only the waves, because we don't want people noticing that we're docked while we're supposed to be in the middle of the ocean. When we're supposed to have docked you will have slowed the cammera super speed down a few seconds before and then you'll turn the camera so we know we're docked. Anyways, we'll discuss it. The image states that it will occur after enchanting the bolts, which is stated in the article itself, so no confusion would be caused by it. The image is appropriate for just that, not to mention that when people think of Gem-tipped bolts, they think of the Enchanted versions anyways. Tarikochi 20:03, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

It can cause confusion. If you look at Pearl bolts and Enchanted pearl bolts they look like clones, and this could confuse people that have seen both articles who forget what page they are on. Chiafriend12 20:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

To most people, they almost are clones anyways, as not many people even use the gem-tipped bolts without enchanting em right away. A consensus I could think of is just relocating the image on the non-enchanted versions so that the pages dont look like they repeat when going to the enchanted version. With your permission, I would like to create an article on the Lathas' Amulet which used to be given out at the end of Biohazard but at an unknown date was replaced with the NPC that would deliver the King's Message. I know that the Amulet existed (and still exists, among those who were lucky to keep theirs), as I myself own a Lathas' Amulet. It would be an invaluable addition to the Wiki, I'm sure, and would set my mind at rest at informing other people that such an item actually existed. I had similar thoughts, that you start off with a low-power, large caliber primitive weapon, such as the Chinese reed cannon, working up through matchlocks, wheellocks, flintlocks, percussion locks, needle locks, and various assault rifles, esp. the AK-108. That would be a truly, well, awesome addtion to the game. And ammunition? "Use" elemental and pure essence runes on the gun, creating 5 bullets. Essence being weakest, air, water, earth, fire, and pure essence. I would put a strength-defence option with a melee attack, and ranged for the essence, and magic/ranged for the crafted and pure runes.

And since RuneScape looks most like Europe than any other continent, and the technologies seem to point to the middle ages (not including runes), there should be some sort of gunpowder powered weapon that shoots things (AKA: guns!). The guns in twelth century Europe were quite primitive. I beleive they worked much like Pre-Napoleonic Era cannons; In fact, it was like a miniture one, consisted of an iron tube with a hole in the breech. The matchlock was developed in the mid-15th century during the renaissance.

Thanks for updating the street price on the bow string article. However I notice that you have also formatted numbers with commas separating the thousands rather than (non-breaking) spaces. This is considered normal in Great Britain and the US, but continental Europeans use the comma as a decimal point. So writing "200,000" (two-hundred thousand) looks how "200.000" does to us, i.e. exactly 200.

In the interests of facilitating clear and comprehensive global communication, we should not be using commas to separate digits in this way, and the non-breaking space is the best way of doing this. Ordinary spaces do not do the job adequately, as there is a chance that the "200" will appear on one line, and the "000" will appear on the next line if there happens to be a word-wrap at that point.

A non-breaking space can be inserted just by typing "&nbsp;" (without the quotes) as the separator in numbers. I will change these back in the article in question, but I wanted to let you know why.  :-) Leevclarke 17:53, 21 September 2007 (UTC)

Hopefully this will allow wikians to "get together" in game easier and allow new users to see firsthand the strong communtiy that we have at the Wiki. I am pretty sure that you can obtain a second copy of your Chompy Hat if you drop it and ask for another from Rantz. That's how I have over 20 Chompy Hats, and I just replenish when it goes down to 0.

Although it is possible to obtain as many as long as you have the inventory space and the patience to drop and ask for another, it may be harder to pull off for a higher-level hat due to requiring the lower hats in your inventory before you can reach that hat. I'm planning on making a music video of the "Zezima Song". Since you have a party hat and full dragon (or at least did), could you play the role of Zezima and just stand somewhere for a few seconds and make a confused "=|?" face? Nope, I still have the armour and Party Hat. However, for accuracy purposes, I know for sure that Zezima almost never wears them. Instead, he normally wears (as far as I remember) Bunny Ears, Scythe (which I don't have and can never have), Gilded Platebody and Gilded Platelegs, a Fire Cape, and probably an Amulet of Fury and Cooking Gauntlets. The rest I forgot. If he had to wear a Party Hat, it would be Blue, if I can recall correctly.

As for makeover, I believe he has brown wild-hair (forgot the name, but it may have changed after update), slightly dark skin, and especially, male.

It would be much better and easier to find someone with the Bunny Ears, Scythe, and Fire Cape and get them Gilded Armour. If you can't and if I'm avaliable, I guess I can participate when I'm avaliable in RuneScape again. Tarikochi 14:28, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

I have him on MSN and he has since confessed to me that he uses an Autocutter for cutting trees, and he is also selling accounts on Sythe.org. I have already reported one account that he bought for himself and I do believe it got banned, but I fear you're the only person here who will listen to me and believe the words I speak. He's gotten into many illegal things and I fear the only way to set him straight is to give him a hard slap in the face.....i.e. reporting him to Jagex. I was referring to the previous incident over the image you took in the party room. You already have credit in the file history, and given that the image namespace is in a way part of the wiki's content, it's better to leave user names out of image summaries. Skill 00:48, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Some policy is going to need to be made concerning things like this within content namespaces in order for it to be observed. Particularly, some users might not really agree with the removal of those names, now that you've reminded me that they're there. Feel free to make a policy page or something yourself, but at some point there's going to need to be a community discussion about this topic so that it becomes accepted policy. I guess you can revert your name back in for now, if you'd like, until a firm rule of some sort is laid down. There are already a few policy pages that I have in mind (RS:S for one), so if nobody else creates something it might take me a while to get to it. I'll see what I can do. Hiya. The Exchange charts are built from all the revision histories on the "Exchange:xxxx" pages. If a chart only has one or two points that's because nobody (including me, of course) is updating that article with fresh prices. There's around 1200 Exchange items being tracked now so I guess some just aren't as popular as others, but as soon as an article gets updated with a new price PointyBot can upload a chart with the extra data points. I was thinking of adding an 'articles needing new prices' section to PointyBot's user pages, but that won't be for a little while yet. Pointy 11:39, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

I didn't want to respond on the RFA to prevent a whole huge discussion with everyone. My point is that the type of edits Ben makes are not relavant to his adminship or not. You criticize him for making "minor" edits, but he is making edits that are essential to making the wiki correct. You too have made alot of minor edits..that was my point.
