I see you are working hard... Edit

Nice work on your user page. Your adding to it. Nice job. Just... you can't have a skill at level 0. The lowest skill level is level 1. Just so you know.Nice work.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs01:52, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Your welcome I guess...Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs01:56, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Ummm... Why does the 2004 template say that you have been playing since 2001? It says "2004" on it and it reads "This user has been playing RuneScape since 2001". I don't get it. (?)Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs02:05, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Templates Edit

You know, you don't need to make templates so complicated. to make a skill template userbox, you just need to put:

{{User stats|

going up and down. Sorry, I couldn't make it like that but after say... |Fletching= you would put |Woodcutting= on a new line. Also, after the = you put the level of the skill.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs02:55, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, but I like seeing the source code for stuff - that way, edits of the template don't affect me, and if I don't like something, I can change it without changing the template (and changing other userpages at the same time). Blast 06,01,07 2200 (UTC -5)
No, when you change it you don't change other people's if thats what you're saying. And, I didn't know it would go up and down...Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs 03:01, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
No, I mean stylistically speaking. Like, say, the background, or whatever. Blast 06,01,07 2106 (UTC -5)
Oh, I see.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs22:23, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

Since 2001 too? Edit

Hey, I've been playing since 2001 too. Have you been free-to-play since then? --Sαcrε (edit my sig) | (edit my user page)

This isn't my first account either, and I've been free-to-play since I've started. --Sαcrε (edit my sig) | (edit my user page) 21:58, 7 January 2007 (UTC)

G, coins, what's the difference? Edit

Sorry, I just thought it should be coins instead of "g", but I suppose I should have asked first. Sorry about that...oh, I forgot to ask you something! Why do you have beer in your bank? --Sαcrε (edit my sig) | (edit my user page)04:58, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

RE:Hiring Edit

Yeah, I know what you mean, but since I'm 1k exp from 50 smithing, and I tend to get bored a lot on the game, think of me as a freelancer, not an employee. But if you dont want to until you get customers I understand. Marcus Gord 23:26, 13 January 2007 (UTC)

Editing other people's posts Edit

Please don't. What they post is what they post. It's not up to you to decide whether or not they are spelling things right...It's up to them. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 10:12, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

We're on a community-based website, where anyone can edit anyone else's work without their permission, and you're asking me to stop this? I don't know about you, but when people fail to get things right, I always want to edit whatever it was so that it doesn't bother me anymore, particularly when collaboration and community editing is involved. You might have a point, if, say, it was a mere difference about American vs. British spellings (potatoe, etc.), but here, you're asking me to do something retrograde to the spirit of a Wiki. :/ Blast 14,01,07 1654 (UTC -5)
Well, sorry for bringing this up, what about the "G" vs. Coins? I'm still sorry about that, but if they want to be illiterate, which bugs me to death, I suppose it's their choice. =/ --Sαcrε (edit my sig) | (edit my user page) 22:05, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
That's the same thing that I was talking about with the potato/potatoe thing. They're equally correct, so it doesn't matter. But "u" is not, in any stretch of the imagination, a word in the English language, and the day that it does is the day I firebomb Oxford for betraying us all. :p Blast 15,01,07 0045 (UTC -5)

Vimes is right, he talked to me about this, see here.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs22:11, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Seems that had to do with censorship, which this isn't. Can you clear up the context? Blast 15,01,07 0045 (UTC -5)
Well, I think he's saying they can say what they want and you can't change it to what you see is fitting, because it's their own ideas and they're not made to conform to your own... no matter how illiterate. =( --Sαcrε (edit my sig) | (edit my user page) 06:09, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
But I'm not doing anything more than a spellchecker would do. Surely that can't be considered altering a post's meaning? Blast 15,01,07 0113 (UTC -5)
That's a good point, but along with the g & coins, they have the exact same meaning, but g was originally there. I saw coins as a good alternative, but it was different from what you originally wrote. I think my link would be relevant to this. --Sαcrε (edit my sig) | (edit my user page) 06:20, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Even if it's just for proper spelling, punctuation etc, doing spellchecker-style work for someone does change what they say. Some people judge the reliability of a post (at least, the reliability of the person behind the post) by the way it's said. For example, if someone said on the Rune Javelin talk page, "Actually, Rune Javelins are more useful than you might think - they are a very efficient training weapon" they would be more likely to be taken seriously than, for example, someone saying "lol noob! run javs r reely good! lol how do u not no that n00b rofl!!1". Admittedly, that's an extreme version, but such things could happen if we allow people to change what other people say. People have their own styles which reflect their attitude and personality, and whether or not they choose to use correct spelling is part of that. If you genuinely think this should be changed, make a forum topic about this and we can have a vote, or something. JalYt-Xil-Vimescarrot 07:54, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
I seem to have come across one of your edits on the forums, Blast. On the forum Forum:Selling whip 2m, you completely changed what someone said to say something different, thus making it in your words. I believe it said something like "Selling whip 1m name says it all. Pm in game" while you changed it to say something such as "The title says it all, Selling whip 1,000,000 coins. Contact me in game for more information." The changes what the person may have been trying to say, though I am sure you had good intentions while doing so, we don't change talk page comments to our own words. After spotting this, though, I reverted your edits, sorry, to show what the person was saying before.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs17:37, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
Check the history and you will see this.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs17:40, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
@Sacre Fi: I've already addressed that, though. Your link doesn't bring up any new material - it simply mentions censorship, and, as I mentioned, equally-correct ways of saying things.
@Ilyas, et all: That's the group of edits that brought this on, Ilyas. :| And, as I have already stated, running posts through a spellchecker does not equate to "completely chang[ing] what someone [has] said". I will, however, agree that a good way to judge the...I won't say reliability, but it does help one gauge the amount of effort or thought one will put into something. So while it doesn't change the meaning, I concede that it might change what the receiving person(s) think about the poster, and whether or not they would like to interact with them (even though that may be considered just a little elitist ;p). Personal ImageEdit

Information iconHello. An image or video that you have uploaded appears to be personal. Personal files should not be hosted on the RuneScape Wiki (see RS:NOT#HOST). If you want to add a picture or video of your RuneScape character, or any other media that doesn't fit in an article, you may upload it on an image hosting site, such as Photobucket or ImageShack. You can then insert it into your userpage simply by copying and pasting the URL where you want to insert it. If you have uploaded a picture of your avatar, you can instead directly link to your avatar picture by pasting character name/full.gif for full avatar and for chathead. If you need more details feel free to ask any question you have on my talk page.

Hi.  :-) Your image "Hi items falador-draynor.png" seems to be a personal image, but it is only used on a subpage of your user page. In keeping with policy, I will be deleting this image. As it has been on the wiki for some time, I am giving you notice so that you can save it to your computer (as you probably don't have a local copy of it any more) before uploading it to a third-party host. I will be deleting it in the next few days though. If you have any questions, etc., please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Many thanks.  :-) Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 16:47, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Oh, forgot to say I have taken the liberty of compressing the file, since it was about 5 times as big as it needed to be.  ;-) You can still access your original as a previous version if you prefer. Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 16:51, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
Hmm, looks like I didn't get around to this before (four and a half months ago), so I will do it now. If you do need to retrieve the file, leave a message on my talk page and I should be able get a copy to you.  :-) Leevclarke talk Max_logo_mini.png bulldog_puppy.png 02:44, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
