[edit] nav boxem
lol, I found out how wikipedia handles the template talk link here wikipedia:Special:WantedPages (where they disabled the wantedpages feature ages ago, 23:23, 30 November 2006. specifically) and the reason why it was turned off here where it is explained that templates were "spamming" up the list (lol) and if you're wondering why you don't see the little "d" in red on more templates, it's because in the Tnavbar template they force the colour to #002bb8 so even the redlinks look blue, roflmao. problem solved they by sweeping it under the rug then throwing the entire feature and rug out into the backyard junk heap. omg i feel like this is a southern united states thing. wait, didn't wikipedia start in florida ! omfg!! it is a southern thang!!!! goddess help us all... ~kytti khat 00:05, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Template:ExcgTable
I finally found a fix to Template:Tnavbar. Assuming it doesn't blow up the size too much do you think we could use similar to fix all the Image:GEMH_*.png images? ~kytti khat 00:42, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] In Soviet Russia, rules reverse you
Um, the difference is that i am forcing them to be displayed as external URLs which should hopefully avoid them showing up in the wanted pages when they don't exist. I'm fairly sure the reason such a ruling went into place is because of wanted pages clutter. So long as the preprocessors and renderers don't add them to the wanted pages list all should be okay, no? Please refer me to the discussion that led to the consensus decision; I;m fairly certain the issue was them showing up on Special:Wantedpages, the current compilation of which occurred over six hours after I made the last edit to Tnavbar, but no Template Talk pages are showing up. (I'm basically following wikipedia's lead, and since they have done similar the chances of ever getting #ifexist functional without generating wanted pages clutter is virtually nil). It's early for me I should either get coffee or more sleep. ~kytti khat 14:02, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- Okay i was double checking, the other thing i did different was I left out the edit action, maybe that will help. Sheesh i hope so, so far so good. ~kytti khat 14:25, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
- I just backtracked into mah talk history and spotted your comment. It's not your fault that the coders of wikipedia left us an #ifexist that didn't live up to what it should have (at least in my opinion, and i'm fairly sure Uberfuzzy shares that feeling too). So far I'm not seeing them show up, and it was simply a matter of forcing the discussion link as an external link rather than internal (as far as i can tell), I would have done exactly what you did had i known of #ifexist then, and now that i do know of it, i know it's one pitfall (not an issue for wikipedia where they've just shut down the Special:Wantedpages feature (sheesh).) At some point we might outgrow it's usefulness, but for now... ~kytti khat 19:12, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
[edit] RE: GEMH images and "ifexist" rule
zomg, can we just upload one and insert a redirect for it? that would take less time, space, energy, and create a smaller carbon footprint. ~kytti khat 19:04, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
- Good plan, if there is any issue about it we can have some friends help us with this fine decision *bats it under the sofa* ~kytti khat 07:01, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- Excellent smithers, i'm sure he has a "clue" how to handle objections to this work around. In the meantime i want to see about bringing back the history in a text based format (hopefully bot fed). The text could then be used to generate charts if we can find a wiki extension to do that which would give us the flexibility to see the data for arbitrary time frames (just like real online historical stock prices, zomg can you imagine?)... ~kytti khat 07:10, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- I just have a quick question, is this going to introduce tons of unused images (price charts) back into the UnusedImages page after I cleaned them all out? --

[edit] Runescape MIDI's
You mentioned that you possess a good many of the MIDI's for RS's music on the Yew Grove in January. If you still have them, would you care to share them? As a musician, I'd love to look at the sheet music. I'd just collect it myself via the cache, but as you know, Jagex changed the engine and thus that is no longer viable.

Bluesonic43 has told me that you were the one who created the Listen Template for the OGG files, and I'd like to know if it is possible to get a variation so that the box that alines left and not right, while stacking and not having text still to the right of it (if I've explained that clearly enough).

[edit] The Poll
I noticed you removed the dates from the poll...I was just wondering why? The date has been determined already by community consensus, which is why I posted the date so users can look ahead in their schedule and best select a time fitted for them for that specific day. April 19th is on the poll as although the fest is April 18th, that is UTC time and for Australia it would be the 19th, so this is to deter any confusion. 19:16, 6 March 2009 (UTC)- Style Guide has priority over preference. You can make the change. Can you please though, in the question, indicate the that the UTC Hours offered are on April 19th in Australia. Thanks! 19:39, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Featured image nomination
Hi Az. I did review the guidlines before I added my nomination.
- Note that images are displayed randomly, not on a scheduled basis (i.e. monthly). - Ok
- Images can be added/removed from the current randomised list through a nomination process in the talk page. - Right, that's why I nominated that image
- Only existing wiki images will be included into the list. Unless the image is used elsewhere in the wiki, it will not be accepted. This is to prevent "orphaned images". - The image is used on the Fishing Guild page
- Images are highly recommended to be less than 100kb. This is to facilitate users with slower connections, and to reduce lag. The Main page is currently the most visited page in the wiki, and therefore has a hugh amount of traffic. Images larger than 100kb may be rejected to reduce load time. - The thumbnail I submitted is about 42kb
- Image size are recommended to be larger than 35x35, and smaller than 250x250 pixels. - The thumbnail is 200x137 pixels
I think the image is within the guidelines. I think it looks nice, so I submitted it. Am I missing something? This looks all right to me. Tollerach talk

[edit] RE:"Wanteds"
I'm just creating redirects for wanted pages to prevent them from appearing in the Special:Wantedpages again. C.ChiamTalkShoutout! 07:10, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Really? But I've seen a lot of redlinks which are caused by users unnecessarily capitalising. I would think that they capitalise unnecessarily when using the Search box. Anyway, quoting "RuneScape:Redirecting", it says that redirects should not be used when:
- Redirecting from one namespace to another; for example, making "Tesfan" redirect to User:Tesfan.
- For an unclear term with more than one possible meaning, a disambiguation page may be an alternative to a redirect. Any mis-spellings of this term should redirect to the disambiguation page. The Dragon page is an example, disambiguating the monster, the armour, and the hide.
- Those redirects aren't any of those, so I thought it should be fine.
The page also mentioned that redirects should be used for different forms of capitalisation. But I can see where you're coming from regarding the "Cave bug (small)" and "Cave bug (large)" though. C.ChiamTalkShoutout! 07:27, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hmm after reading through, I would say that it makes a lot of sense. I agree, I think it should be included in RuneScape:Redirecting. Maybe we should propose the idea on the Yew Grove? Oh and I think this section: "Redirecting from one namespace to another; for example, making "Tesfan" redirect to User:Tesfan." needs to be changed a bit. After all, "Yg" and "Yew Grove" redirect to Forum:Yew Grove. Maybe it should be changed to redirecting to the user namespace only? C.ChiamTalkShoutout! 07:54, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Re:30 March
That's weird, I thought all I did was to remove the full stop (period) at the end of the last entry, although it is possible that I moved the category to the end without realising the consequences. As you said yourself in Forum:On This Day on 19 March 2009 (03:34), some entries end with punctuation, so we should avoid adding any punctuation to the ends of entries. Although the entry in question is a full sentence, for the sake of consistent style, I would have inferred that all entries in bulleted lists in date articles should have no punctuation at the end. Regarding anything else, I can only assume that was a mistake on my part, for which I apologise. I see you've already fixed it, so I'll be careful to check these things more carefully. ;-) Leevclarke talk

Hey azliq, I saw your revert of my change to Category:RuneScape Wiki images. I just wanted to let you know that I made that change because RSWimages is already a subcategory of images which is a subcategory of RSW, so I thought that having it in both categories was redundant.
