[edit] Problem with User stats template
Ah, welcome to the Wiki. When you PMed me earlier about the template, I had just read Clv's page in which she mentioned the same problem at roughly the same time. I thought the Amaurice in-game corresponded with the Clv309 in-Wiki, but now I see you two are two completely different people. Quite embarrasing of me to confuse you! But thank you for alerting me as well. Enjoy your time here, and if you ever have any more questions, other editors and I are always available to answer: either in-game, on our talk pages, or the local forums. Hyenastetalk 21:22, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for fixing the template. I've now looked at how the templates work, so next time I might be able to fix it myself.

[edit] My House
I've moved the page to User:Amaurice/My House as this belongs in user space not main wiki. Cheers -- Eucarya Talk 16:16, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oops my mistake. Thanks for spotting it. I did mean to put it under User:Amaurice/My House.

- I was surprised to read that you don't have a Costume Room. I love my costume room as it provides extra Banking space for clothing I have collected on my Treasure Trails. I have maybe 75 to 80% of the Level 1 items in my Treasure Chest and then will move on to Level 2's. (I bought a mahogany Costume Room set from someone for 50K, he later died from a random event outside his house and dropped more than that.)

- I don't have a Costume Room because I got to 90 Construction and built my house before Runescape had the Costume Room. Because of the 20 room limit, I could not add the Costume Room so decided I'm going to wait until I next work on Construction (later this year) before changing my house. I definitely want to build the Costume Room as it will free up bank space.
Amaurice talk 08:34, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Just spend some coins on the workshop and replace a bedroom or some other silly room. Bank space is at a premiium in my book. And it can hold a surprising number of items. --Miw 13:09, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

- Unfortunately, two bedrooms are needed to have a servant which I use during construction training. Once I get 99 construction I might loose one of the bedrooms (and the servant). However, the rebuild will also give me an extra portal chamber too anyway.

- You can give an image for the center just by using text=[[Image:imagename]] (yes, I know I call it text but it's not limited to text).
- As for setting the background image, I can't seem to get the wiki to keep my style="background: url('http://....')" to allow the background image to be specified. Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong. Your welcome to have a go.
- If you look at it, you will find that the Template:House room calls Template:House roomshape for doing the shape itself. The house shape is made up of a table with three rows, and a total of 5 cells. Four of these cells contains images, as follows:

- Let me know if you manage to get background images working...
Amaurice talk 13:19, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
- Had a go at this after your comment. The wiki engine prevents you from adding a background image. You need a pretty long work around to get that working. Need some tricky style sheets and named div's to a page to get background images for a table. Too much work for only a small improvement. --Miw 15:23, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Making Arrows
How many Arrows did you make to get to Level 99 Fletching ? I have calculated I can make another 72 K in Yew Longbows to get to Level 99 and I only need to cut another 62K yews to get to level 99 woodcut. You have some impressive Stats. How do you get Herblore levels up ? I am struggling to Level 52 now.
Seedy65
02:45, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't count them exactly, but I probably made about 900k Arrows getting from 80 to 99 Fletching. Given that they make 15 per click, this is like making about 60k Bows without the banking bit. As for Woodcutting, I decided that Yews are too slow, so I'm planning on doing Woodcutting and Firemaking together on Maples (no banking needed).
- I got my Herblore up with Farming as one of my ways of making money. I initially grew Ranarrs and made Prayer potions, which I sold for profit. I later made Super strong weapon poisons, which I sold or used to make ddp++ that I sold.

[edit] Your signature
I'm noticing problems with your sig. If you look at the title of a page you've posed your sig on, you'll see "talk" and "house" at the top. I think you're missing a tag to end your sig or something. Think you can fix it?--Richard (Talk - Contribs) 17:20, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
- There wasn't any missing tags, but it's possible that you were using a browser that did not handle the absolute and relative positioning the same way. I tried with IE 7 and Firefox 2, maybe you were using a different browser (or an older version). For now, I've removed the use of the relative and absolute positioning, but if you can say what browser you are using that is behaving differently, then I might be able to find a solution that does what I want with it too. Thanks.

[edit] You're ambitious
- Wow, you're attempting all these skills in 2 years. :O. --Whiplash 11:24, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
- Having done some easier ones, like fletching and crafting, I thought I'd have a go at the harder ones. I've worked out how I'll do them, and how many hours it's going to take. The question is how to avoid boredom. By working on 2 or 3 at the time I should get less bored. I can't see how to do power mining without getting extremely bored (and I'm not going to use autos) so I'm only aiming for 85 in that (as with hunter). My aim is to get a lot of the non-combat skills up before working on combat ones again (particularly slayer).

[edit] Userpage
You have a very well designed userpage. It is very aesthetically balanced. Hyenastetalk 16:31, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I do love the templates and userboxes. They make it so much easier creating the user pages.
Amaurice talk 16:45, 23 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for your work on the templates
Thanks for the impressive work that you've done on the Goal template. It certainly is a lot easier to understand what is happening. I like the use of them on your user page. The earlier versions of it had some images from another site, which started me on designing a wiki version of it. Thanks for the great help. --Miw 13:23, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Two Combat Bracelet Pages
The new combat bracelet has two pages, seperate from eachother about the same thing, There's the one i started Combat Bracelet and annother Bracelet of combat. --Sir Raymund
- I based the name of mine on the list produced by Eucarya in the forum topic Forum:Jewellery update, what needs to be done|Jewellery update, what needs to be done. However, this is some good stuff in Combat Bracelet, so I'll merge the changes into Bracelet of combat (which is the one all the other pages link to) and set a redirect of Combat Bracelet to Bracelet of combat. Thanks for spotting this.

Amaurice talk 20:06, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
signature plz.$cash dog c 15:33, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Okay, I've made you a signature to get you started. You can edit by going to Template:Signatures/$cash dog c. To use it, you need to edit your "my preferences" (at the top right of the screen) and make the following changes:
- Change the value of Nickname: to {{SUBST:Nosubst|Template:Signatures/$cash dog c}}
- Tick the checkbox for Raw signatures (underneath the Nickname: field)
- Click on the Save button at the bottom to save the changes
- You should now be able to sign your posts just by typing ~~~~.

[edit] Something's Fishy here
Out of curiosity, what's with the "Don't eat fish given by anyone" in the Warnings part of your House Party advert sample? That just a joke? (Sorry, if only I could read a page and see the person's expression or hear their tone when they say something) :o) By the way, I like the way your house looks, I'll probably end up modeling mine somewhere along those same lines, assuming I ever get the money to pay for it. How do you pay for all of your construction bills? What do you do to earn your money?
TIRRIANGANT (TALK) 18:21, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
- There is a scam that involves giving people poisonous karambwan fish. Hence the warning. As for making the money for constuction, I made some farming ranaars, making prayer pots and selling (probably made about 100m over time). Later I made money buying arrow heads from shop, making arrows and selling arrows (made about 50m doing this). Now I make money doing runecrafting.

[edit] Images
I was aware of the %-image problem, since I was looking at Quests and wondering why none of the images were showing up, but I wasn't aware of the '-image problem, nor how either related to SQL. As for the bug reporting, I would take it to the Wikia IRC channel. I'm nor sure how to connect to it, so check around the Central Wikia (here). Thanks for letting me know about that. :) Oddlyoko talk 16:06, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stat Calculator
Got a favor to ask you. Do you think you could figure out a basic code that could be used to make a Stat Calculator for the Wiki? I don't understand the programming language very well, just some basics, but I can figure out things quickly enough, so with a little help I could probably do most of the work. I figure if you can give me the basic code, ie, calculate like this-->, then I could fill in each of the individual things done with that skill. For example, I could enter each of the things possible to be made in crafting, from pots and up, along with the xp gained for each 1 item made. I just don't know how to display it or anything. I also figured it could be done in a similar way to the Combat level template, just put all the code on one page somewhere, and then make a public page that could be used. Let me know what you think.
TIRRIANGANT (TALK) 16:17, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- I was thinking more along the lines of something like the combat level template. So the template is made, and then we use the simpler form and enter values on the form rather than the actual template. A user could then enter their current xp or level themselves (by editing the page), and their desired xp (or level) and the template would calculate the necessary info and display what needs to be done in order to achieve their goal. This way thay could put it on their User page, or they could use the preview option on the main version of the page.

[edit] Erm, mind if I ask you something?
Mind telling me how you got your Crafting to 99? A friend of mine has a way that costs about .8 coins per exp., and he's refusing to tell me. I was wondering if you used it. --Themurasame Hiscores 07:25, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wanted Pages
Amaurice, either your psychic or you've seen my post here. I'm honestly not sure which. =] I could understand how they appeared there because the links were previously used in sigs, but I hadn't thought that simply resaving the page would update it. Thanks for doing that (jeez, 49 pages. I didn't think anyone else would be willing to do so much). I really appreciate the help, and I'll go change those pages now. ChristineTalk 14:27, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Right. Actually, you going into Wanted Categories is what made me start with Wanted Pages. Totally forgot >_> Anyways, those pages have been updated, but now we're left with text saying No pages link to Forum:I got meself a series on YouTube!. Now, I KNOW (from trying to remove links to non-existant signatures) that these pages WILL NOT be removed when the list is purged around midnight UTC. So I have no idea how to remove it from wanted pages. Unless it is actually created then it won't be removed from the list. ChristineTalk 14:50, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Lol, no worries about the template. I think Syugecin (who technically created it with some help) and I were the only ones who actually even knew about it =] ChristineTalk 14:55, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

strikethrougheduntil the scan tonight where they would be completely removed from the list. There are some pages there that I removed the link from a few days ago that are still there. ChristineTalk 15:11, 20 June 2007 (UTC)- Exactly, and yet if the pages aren't created (and recreating then deleting them does not work either) then they aren't removed from the list. Its an issue. I'd really like to know what wrong, considering purging doesn't work. I thought that was the whole point. But I don't really know what to do about it. ChristineTalk 15:20, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RE:User shops
I think that it would be good idea, as long as it is used only for permanant sellers. Mainly of one kind of item, not just as a general store type of thing. This would definately be better since the market forum has been deleted. Oh, and what do you think of the IP adding [[Category:Onyx]] to all the pages using onyx jewellery? That means that ALL jewellery pages need to add the particular gem cat to their pages. I think its unnecessary. I don't want to go and remove it without someone else's opinion though... ChristineTalk 15:44, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Materials that aren't metal. Lol, that will be a HUGE category then. I can see what you're saying now (and at the time I didn't know they were adding the cat to the bolts also). I think I'll go add cats for all the gems now. As for a shop header, I really like that idea. ChristineTalk 16:41, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] A couple leveling questions
I'm impressed with your levels and how well-rounded you are. I like leveling many different skills, so I'll probably keep asking you for tips, but two skills: First, what did you do to level your crafting all the way? I'm planning on mining 5,500 gold and smithing them (with guantlets) to get my smithing up (good idea?), should I use that gold to level my crafting? What other ideas are out there? Right now I'm at 58 Crafting, hoping for 85ish someday. The other skill I was wondering about, how should I level my farming best? I'm only at 39, and for now I just want to get it to level 50, but to train it that far and farther, what should I do? Any advice would be appreciated.

Please don't. Dreadnoughttalk 07:59, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, I only edited the page to try to get rid of some of the wanted pages entry. Your talk page has a links to Sir Robin's signature that does not exist, so I changed it to point to his user page (that does exist), and the RuneScape:Requests for adminship/USER link does not exist. But I guess I can get rid of that from wanted by creating the page.

[edit] Re:Methods
Hi, thanks for your input.
- As for firemaking, I already have 99 woodcutting, so I think I would rather just buy the maples or yews.
- And yes, I've read that Dorgesh-kaan was faster, but hardly, so it's another option.
- As for thieiving, it's generally accepted that Pyramid Plunder is the fastest method.
- As for mining/smithing, well... I'm really strapped for cash, so I decided to mine gold and then smith it with gauntlets.
- Your method is more efficient without a doubt, but I can't afford to buy steel bars and stuff.--Mura 20:40, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
