[edit] About
[edit] Runescape

I've been playing RuneScape for about a year now. I'm currently a free-to-play player, but I plan to become a pay-to-play member fairly soon. I try to keep my stats well rounded, and as such, I like to fight on all sides of the combat triangle. I prefer melee in most cases however (because it's free), but I occasionally switch to magic or ranged if the situation calls for it or if I'm up for a change.
At the current time, I'm working on improving some of my stats and saving up some money, so I can dive right in whenever I become pay-to-play.
[edit] Wiki
I've been using this wiki for quest help, item guides, prices, etc shortly after I started playing RuneScape about a year ago, and I registered several months later. Currently, I try to look out for and work on:
- Incomplete / Short articles
- Messy articles or articles needing cleanup
- Fixing up images (adding transparency or taking new pictures for out of date/jpeg images)
I also frequently check the recent edits to revert any vandalism I come across.
[edit] Current RS Goals / Skills
[edit] Skills
- Melee
- Currently training: Strength.
- Training through various monsters:
- Flesh Crawlers in Stronghold: Flesh Crawlers are aggressive meaning you can get exp very quickly; as soon as you kill one, another attacks immediately. Very low strength and defense, meaning they aren't too dangerous as long as food is brought along. Not very good for drops, however. Currently my preferred training spot.
- Hobgoblins near Crafting Guild: A relatively uncrowded area with many Hobgoblins, and they are relatively weak so I don't have to worry about bringing food. Decent drops of Limpwurt roots (which sell on the G.E. for about ~700gp) and Law/Nature runes. Not very fast exp though, I come here only if I know I can't devote much time to training.
- Cockroach Soldiers in Safety Stronghold: Very good drops and high hp, but they have an annoyingly high defense and it eats up food quick, so I don't come here as often.
- Lesser Demons at Karamja/Crandor. Nice because I can step out and restock on food whenever I need to, but it can get pretty crowded here, and of course the time fishing/cooking takes away from training. Good exp and drops.
- Ranged
- Using mithril arrows to train on moss giants on Crandor. Fast exp, safespots, and good drops, this is my preferred ranging spot for the time being.
- Magic
- Mostly buying nature runes and various types of equipment from the G.E. and high alching for mage exp. Fairly efficient money wise depending on what I alch, but the 100 item limit in the G.E. is a stumbling block for the most cost effective items... I also sometimes Mage in Fist of Guthix, as runes are provided it makes for free Mage training (albeit a bit slower).
- Prayer
- Training prayer through genie lamps and books of knowledge I get through random events, as well as through big bones I get from giants as I'm training ranged or melee.
[edit] Money Making
- Mining
- Mining gold in the crafting guild and banking in Falador. Nearly 100k an hour here if there's low traffic, however it can get pretty competitive here doing busy server times, so I prefer this only late at night or early in the morning.
- Rune Crafting
- Buying rune essence in bulk on GE and then crafting into air runes. At my current level I make 5 air runes per essence, which is equal to about a 38 coin profit per essence I buy (once I sell the air runes). Slower money, but very easy, and it's RC experience.
- Smithing
- Buying iron and coal from the GE and smithing them into steel bars in Al Kharid. Roughly a 145 coin profit per bar I smith, depending on the current prices of the ores. I occasionally do this with Mithril bars as well, but it requires more coal per mith ore I buy so I haven't tried this as much.
- Monster Drops
- Just selling any good drops I get as I'm training on monsters, or I keep things like nature runes that I can use in alching. For example, banking all uncut gems I get as drops or random events, cutting them for crafting exp, then selling the cut gems on the GE. It's small, but it adds up when you're training for a while, and every little bit counts.
[edit] Fist of Guthix
My current rating score (as of 25 May 2008) is 1065.
So far, I have bought:
- Rune Berserker Shield (New, from Reggie for 300 tokens)
- Full Combat Robes (Degraded, from a player for about 70k)
- Rune Gauntlets (New, from Reggie for 200 tokens)
- Earth Runecrafting Gloves (Used all charges)
Once I get more tokens, I plan to:
- Buy a green d'hide coif
- Recharge the combat robes I bought
Once I've done all that, I'll just save whatever tokens I get for recharges.
