Need help with a bot? Before contacting me via my talk page, please make sure you: Read the RuneScape Wiki bot policy. You will generally need to propose your idea at the Yew Grove and seek community approval before running a bot. Check the list of bots to see if an existing bot already performs a similar task. Are comfortable using a programming language such as Java, Python, or PHP. Check the MediaWiki API documentation on how to view and edit pages using the API. Read Wikipedia's article on creating a bot, with excellent information on how bots work and the development cycle for a bot.

[edit] WikiBot

WikiBot is an open source PHP framework for developing MediaWiki bots using the MediaWiki API. It requires PHP 5 with the curl library. Some features:

• Simple functions for editing pages, fetching page content, and listing categories.
• Exponential backoff for transient errors such as high server load and network errors.
• Exception-based error handling.

Source code is available under the terms of the GNU General Public License. Downloads:
