In urging Athenians to think rationally about the problems of human existence, Socrates supplied a method of inquiry called dialectics, which forced people out of their apathy and smugness and compelled them to examine their thoughts critically.

Dialectics demonstrated that the acquisition of knowledge was a creative act, compelling the individual to play an active role in acquiring the ideals and values by which to live. In a dialogue, individuals became thinking participants in search for knowledge. Through relentless cross-examination, Socrates induced the persons with whom he spoke to explain and justify their opinions rationally, for only thus did knowledge become a part of one's being.

Dialogue implied that reason was meant to be used in relations between human beings, that they could learn from each other, help each other, teach each other, and improve each other.

... HeyEdit

=(
Disappointed:
How I feel when people acknowledge the law... then disregard it.

=D
Ecstatic:
How I feel when people actually read my text-walls.

=/
Uncertain:
How I feel about discussing personal and controversial topics like politics and religion on the wiki.

=)
Happy:
How I feel when people I respect ask me for my opinion.

I don't play very much at all anymore. If ever, I'm on the username "Forvynn" most often, though I don't relate any of my accounts, so you won't notice me if I happen to create a new account in a few years and start over; it's happened more than once. I'm a lifetime free-to-play type of person, so I always had a goal of earning enough money to justify blowing a few million on a Saradomin Platebody; after investing in Prayer and spending countless hours on Mining and Runecrafting, earning large amounts of money to be wasted on the endless sinkhole that is Smithing, I bought one over the summer of 2010, so I'm kind of done. I like leveling Smithing, and I've done more Mining than I care to detail, but it's not enough to keep me around right now. Runecrafting is ridiculously profitable, so I pay for Smithing with it more than Mining, but still... not enough.

Nobody cares about life, so I'll keep this epithet to the minimum that my narcissistic subconscious will allow. Brandon: alive for 19 consecutive years, currently in Michigan, member of an accelerated honors management major program, exceptional editor and contributing writer of a newspaper, talented public speaker, owner and state-level player of a trombone that's more than 19 consecutive years old, wannabe composer and general helper for the FOSS-RPG-development project Dungeonhack, modest web designer, modest graphic designer, wannabe pencil artist, left-footed member of a club soccer team who runs circles around people, humble user of the mighty Arch Linux, believer in minimalism and efficiency, listener of trance-techno-electronica-whatever as determined by your semantics, Final Fantasy fanatic, Elder Scrolls fanboy, believer in limited government, wannabe interpreter of law.
