Well, we had a good run, didn't we? Sadly, life beckons, and it's quite a busy life at that. In the last few months that I was editing here, I didn't even play the game. At first, it was due to some unusual computer troubles stopping that, but even on my new PC that I built myself (the 2700K is pretty sweet, by the way), I found no particular urge to play the game. I suppose it's a combination of factors.

Firstly, Jagex has continuously shown they care very little about their customers and only want money, as proven by the selling of Squeal of Fortune spins. Once upon a time, I could honestly vote Jagex into those golden joystick awards; but now I have no real confidence in them. I've picked up a copy of World of Warcraft and hope to give it a go this summer; I've heard only good things about Blizzard, and am a fan of some of their other games. Secondly, I think the main reason I played RuneScape for so long was because of the community. I'm having difficulty justifying how "fun" it is to grind away on a skill by clicking on something every 20 seconds. Jagex's gameplay model just doesn't work anymore. Quests were great, but why should I wait a month for a two hour quest when there's plenty of other games available? I've also been rather annoyed at the inability to finish the game's longest running quest series. There's zero closure for series like the elves and dragonkin series. The game's oldest fans are punished with the inability to finish what they start. All in all, Jagex got their priorities terribly wrong.

I know many people here edit the wiki long after they've stopped playing the game. However, I lack the time to continue doing all this editing for a cause I can no longer believe in. In addition, Wikia itself continues to drive me crazy. If any corporation can make worse choices than Jagex, it's Wikia. From the narrow Wikia skin to the terrible ads to the incredibly restrictive ToS, Wikia has lost all my confidence that it cares about anything besides ad revenue. While I understand businesses have the goal and responsibility to make money, Wikia plows right off the deep end. I wish this wiki all the best of luck in moving to its own domain in the near or distant future.

At any rate, all this has brought me to where I am. Between life (bubbles!), a social life (yes, got one of those; did I fool you all?), and education (computer science is the only way to go!), I've got my full life ahead of me. I hope to one day work for a game developing studio which will genuinely care for its customers. Life isn't perfect; the girl I thought was for me turned out to be a lie, but I hold strong to a brighter future. That future may not include editing this wiki, but remember it was the awesome community that kept me here for so long in the first place. You guys have all been great. I still casually visit another wiki, and will (at least eventually) notice talk page messages here, as well as will respond to email. Leaving so abruptly after putting so much work into the wiki is hard. Perhaps equally hard is leaving the graphical updates subpages unfinished (sorry!). I never even got to see the passing of the spoiler thread. But they're all drops in the river of life (prone to flooding during rain).

Hofmic should be handled with care, due to an unsourced possibility of spontaneous combustion during editing rounds^{[Citiation needed]}. It is rumoured that Hofmic may actually a be figment of readers imaginations (like mythical horses), but this point has not been formally proven.

Hofmic has wracked up an excessively large edit count since that join date, although rivals contested that (s)he/it achieved the numbers only by reckless spamming of Pretty Lass's talk page.
