Well, it was a good run. I've been part of the wiki for six and a half years, but it's time for me to mosey on to the next big thing. It's been a while since I've been super active here, and I think it's time to make a clean break and focus on other things. My departure has been hastened by frustration with some of Wikia's recent shenanigans, but that's far from the only reason -- it's been a long time coming. It's hard to leave with things unfinished, but there's never a perfect time.
I'll still be reachable by email (cookmeplox@gmail.com) if any of my stuff is desperately broken or if Cqm goes rogue again. I'll also keep an eye on my talk page for at least the foreseeable future, and feel free to add me on Facebook, although message me so I know who you are. And look me up if you're ever in Seattle, I'd love to meet up with any of you. And who knows, I might be back -- my last intended break lasted about 12 hours.
Six and a half years, wow! That's a third of my existence. If you had told me at age 14 that I'd still be editing that RuneScape Wiki now, I'd probably have been pretty disappointed with past-future-me...but I have very few regrets about my time here. I've learned so much about organization, so much about how to work with others, and so much about just getting shit done...I'm a better person because of time spent here. I've made lifelong friends on thie site, and RuneScape and the wiki have also completely changed my life and career path in wonderful and unexpected ways.
This is the best community I have ever been part of, because we all were building something great together that was bigger than any one of us. I loved every minute of it, the hectic update days and the fun projects and even the heated arguments, because I knew it all came from a place of love for this amazing thing we made together. You, the contributors, are the best and most dedicated people in the entire RuneScape community, and there's a place in my heart for every single person that I ever interacted with on here, whether it was in 2009 or yesterday, and whether they like me or not. I wish every one of you the very best in life and on the wiki, and I love you all so much.
