Every 1000 snow gathered can be made into an enchanted snowball[help], which can be handed to the head elf.
The next day, you'll be able to collect a number of Christmas presents[help] from the head elf - the same as the number of snowballs you handed in, up to 50. These contain prizes, including a limited number of rare items across all those awarded:
At the end of each week - after reset time on Wednesday 00:00 GMT - you'll be able to collect big Christmas presents[help]: one for your first, and then approximately one per five snowballs handed in during the week, up to a maximum of 10 presents.
These weekly presents have more limited items, so you've a greater chance of getting a sought-after prize from each one.
They're also the only way that members can get the glowing cracker[help]. When pulled with another player, this gives 1000 Bonus XP in a random skill to both. Its owner also gets a prize, which could be the rarest of all Christmas gifts: the holly wreath[help].
Of the new rares on offer, the holly wreath, Christmas scythe and rubber turkeys are tradeable, so get hold of them during the two week period if you can!
We'll also have JMods in game sprinkling snow around to help you out. Keep an eye on the forums, Twitter and Facebook for festive events and competitions.
All regular accounts get at least one Treasure Hunter Key per day, and RuneScape members get two - as well as access to the golden cracker! Go for Premier Club and you can get up to three Keys per day.
You can earn more through gameplay – just visit the wiki[help] to find out how, and to learn more about Treasure Hunter itself.
