Uncut ruby detail

An uncut ruby is a red gemstone used in Crafting and Fletching. An uncut ruby can be crafted into a ruby, requiring level 34 Crafting and yielding 85 Crafting experience. Members can use the Fletching skill to cut a ruby into 12 ruby bolt tips at level 63 Fletching, yielding 6 Fletching experience.

Uncut rubies can be obtained randomly while mining ores, dropped as loot from defeating monsters, rewarded as a prize from many Distractions and Diversions, mined from gem rocks found throughout Gielinor at level 40 Mining, and may be obtained from cracking Wall safes found in the Rogues' Den at level 50 Thieving.

TriviaEdit

  • Prior to the introduction of Grand Exchange the examine text on uncut stones read: "This would be worth more if it was cut." This description no longer matched the actual trading value of gems and thus this was later changed.
  • Although formally released on 8 May 2001, uncut gems were briefly obtainable following the 17 March 2001 cooking update, before the Crafting skill was fully implemented.
