[edit] Leo the Gravedigger

The Zombie Dance emote that a player can unlock in Leo The Gravedigger strongly resembles a part of a dance from Michael Jackson's music video for his, song "Thriller".

If you use an axe on one of the dead trees you will be given the message "You don't need any wood. What are you planning on doing, making them a fresh coffin?"

[edit] Evil Chicken

  • The Evil Chicken has the lowest wander range of any NPC, only 1 square.
  • Sometimes the Evil Chicken will glitch and stay in one place, not attacking anything.

[edit] Strange Plant

The strange plant is supposed to be related to the Jade vine according to the Back to my Roots

[edit] Tangle Vine

The Tangle Vine's appearance was the same as the marshy plant from the Jungle Potion quest.

[edit] Swarm

Even though a player cannot directly attack it, his/her summoning familiar can. A player used to be able to attack the swarms, but would be unable to hit them.

[edit] Big fish

The Posh fountain built using the construction skill has two small big fish on it, spraying water from their mouths.

[edit] Certers

In RuneScape Classic, the Certers were employed in Draynor, converting fish, ore, or logs into certificates. When the new RuneScape was introduced, the certers were removed from the game and replaced by the bank note system. Jagex released this random event as a reference to their old trade.

[edit] Jekyll and Hyde

The event is a direct reference to the mystery novel The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. It was about a doctor who created a potion splitting himself into two distinct personalities, the kind, gentle Dr. Jekyll, and the fearsome, malevolent Mr. Hyde.

[edit] Frogs

  • This is the only random event in which a player gets a reward (access to the Frogland song) for ignoring the random event.
  • Some players are upset that they are not able to wear clothing of the opposite gender because it transforms to fit the player's gender automatically. Despite complaints, Jagex has not changed this and probably will not.

[edit] Lost Pirate

Cap'n Hand's name is a parody of the villain of Peter Pan known as "Captain Hook", referring to the hook he used in place of his hand after losing it to a crocodile. It could also possibly be a reference to Israel Hands, a character in Treasure Island.

[edit] Strange box

The strange box used to be a colour-based random event; for example, it may ask "Which shape is red?" or "What colour is the square?". This was changed because colour-blind people were not able to complete the event.
