- Unannounced, Lucien has his graphics revamped during the Varrock revamp. He used to look like a black mage with a black helmet and dagger.
- He bears the same name as Lucien Lechance from the Elder Scroll IV oblivion, Who has a sinister personality like Lucien and is a leader of a murder cult known as the Dark Brotherhood.

If you examine some of the citizens of Miscellania and Etceteria, you will get text that references 'Monty Python's Flying Circus'. Examples include when you examine the Etceterian banker, the examine text is "He looks happy to see you." and when you examine the miner, the examine text is "He's just mining his own business.".

Ali appears to be a popular desert name.There are at least twenty-two Ali's,mostly found in the Kharidian Desert.

- Ali the Barman, who owns The Asp & Snake Bar in Pollnivneach
- Ali the Camel, one of two camels in a pasture in the middle of Pollnivneach
- Ali the Camel Trader, a man who owns the Discount Camel Store in Pollnivneach

- Ali the Carter, a man in the dried up town of Nardah

- Pious Pete, a monk who features in the Candlelight random event
- Pirate Pete, a man in Morytania whom players must speak to in order to begin the Rum Deal quest
- Postie Pete, RuneScape's only known postman who consists of a skull
- Prison Pete, character trapped in prison who players escape with in a random event
- ScarFace Pete, a man from the Heroes' Quest, who players must steal a candlestick from

- 'Bird's-Eye' Jack, the navigator aboard the Lady Zay who is involved with the Lunar Diplomacy quest
- Explorer Jack, a man who starts the Lumbridge and Draynor achievement diary.
- Grandpa Jack, a retired fisherman in Hemenster who plays a small role in the Fishing Contest quest.
- Hooknosed Jack, the owner of the rat pit in Varrock, who is involved in the Ratcatchers quest.
- Jack, a boy involved with the 2006 Christmas event.
- Jack, a character who plays role in Meeting History quest.
- Jack Sails, one of the pirates aboard the Lady Zay.
- Jack Seagull, a pirate in The Rusty Anchor in Port Sarim (Reference to Jack Sparrow from the Pirates of the Caribbean)
- Jack Frost, son of the Queen of Snow and involved in the 2008 Christmas event.

- Mysterious Old Man, a Random event.
- Odd Old Man starts the Rag and Bone Man quest.
- Old Man Ral hangs around towards the entrance of Meiyerditch.
- Strange Old Man can be found digging in the Barrows mounds.
- Weird Old Man is a man gone insane outside the Kalphite Lair.
- Wise Old Man, the Draynor Village Bank Robber and retired adventurer.

There are four characters called Bob.
- Bob (smith), a character found in Lumbridge who repairs all Barrows armours, and sells hatchets.
- Bob Sinclair, one of Lord Sinclair's children who is involved with the Murder Mystery quest.
- Bob the Jagex Cat, a cat who is involved with several quests.
- Evil Bob, a cat who is involved with two random events.

There are four characters called Sarah.
- Nurse Sarah - Resides in Western Ardougne.
- Sarah (Gardener) - Sells farming tools in farm north of Port Sarim.
- Sarah also is encountered during Meeting History quest. She's the founder of Herblore skill.
- NPC named Sarah also makes appearance during campsite event of Temple Trekking minigame.

There are three characters called Brian.
- Brian (archery), a non-player character who runs Brian's Archery Supplies in Rimmington.
- Brian (axes), an NPC who runs Brian's Battleaxe Bazaar in Port Sarim.
- Brian O'Richard, a non-player character who can be found in the Rogue's Den.

There are three characters called Charlie.
- Charlie, a zookeeper in the Ardougne Zoo.
- Charlie the Cook, the chef in The Shrimp and Parrot restaurant in Brimhaven.
- Charlie the Tramp, a tramp who is found right next to the southern entrance to Varrock.

There are two people called Hild.
- Hild, a woman in Burthorpe who is involved in A Tail of Two Cats.
- Hild (Miscellania), a character who has a minor role in the Royal Trouble quest.

- Assistant Stan, a man employed by Auguste, discovered after completing Enlightened Journey
- Trader Stan, the owner of the charter ships in Port Sarim
