[edit] Easter
[edit] 2007 Easter event
- If a player clicks the "Examine" button right before entering the hole that has to be gone through after obtaining the magic egg they will receive a message saying "Let's just see how deep the rabbit hole goes." This is a direct reference to the story "Alice in Wonderland" where Alice follows a rabbit down a hole to reach Wonderland. A similar quote is said by Morpheus in "The Matrix".
[edit] 2008 Easter event
- This event was the one and only time when Free-to-play players had a Summoning interface screen, during the time of the event when having to turn other animals into chocolate.
- If players bring all 9 eggs to the hole, the guard will ask "Are you sure you aren't the Easter Bunny in disguise?"
- The 2008 Easter area is the same area as the 2007 Easter event. The part of the chocolate chunks is the area where the player entered the hole and the part with the chocatrice egg and the easter bunny was the bowling area.
- If the player tries to hit another player with a snowball in the bunny hole, they will receive a message that says "This is Easter, not Christmas! You don't see the Easter Bunny interfering in Christmas events now do you?"
- If the player tries to require assistance while you're a bunny, it says "You can't request assistance while in bunny form".
[edit] Halloween
[edit] 2006 Hallowe'en event
This event is based on the Ghostbusters movie, having similar elements and referencing the movie in a number of quotes. For example, when talking to Diango, he asks 'Who am I gonna call?' and your character would reply 'Me! I ain't afraid of no ghost!' Also, when given the explanation on how to use the Ghostbuster 500, Diango would warn "Whatever you do, don't cross the streams!"
[edit] Christmas
Christmas 2008
- When you attempt to take off your Ice Amulet, which prevents you from turning into ice, you won't take it off, but instead you will be frozen in ice.
- When you try to call your imp back from the Land of Snow, it says "(Your imps name) has gone back to the Land of Snow, and no longer answers to your calls."
- Snow Imps are considered pets, but do not make a summoning interface appear.
[edit] Holiday items
[edit] Zombie head
- The "Alas!" and the examine text (Alas... I hardly knew him.) is a reference to the famous Shakesperean tragedy Hamlet. In one scene, Hamlet finds the remains of a friend of his and performs a soliloquy with the skull, one line being the famous (and often misquoted) "Alas, poor Yorick! I knew him, Horatio."
[edit] Rubber chicken
- Some time ago, Jagex moderators could not be whacked with chickens, and if you attempted to, you would get a warning message. This feature was later removed, and now mods are fully whackable, though some say they do not hear the whack, this has not been confirmed.
