Translation book

From the RuneScape Wiki, the wiki for all things RuneScape

The Translation book, or Gnome-English Translation, is part of The Grand Tree quest. It helps you translate the speech of Hazelmere who only speaks in the Gnomic tongue, and helps solve a puzzle with sticks. During The Eyes of Glouphrie however, you don't need the book to talk to Hazelmere.

After doing the quest, you can find the book on the bookcase in your house.

[edit] Translations of other Gnome texts

From the Gnome Glider menu:

English Name Gnome Name Translation
The Grand Tree Ta quir Priw THE GUARDIAN TREE
White Wolf Mountain Sindarpos BIG ROCKS
Digsite Lemanto Andra MAN CITY
Al-Kharid Kar-Hewo NO GRASS
Karamja Gandius JUNGLE
Feldip Hills Lemantolly Undri STUPID MAN LANDS

This implies that the word for "stupid man" can also mean "Ogre" as the majority of Ogres live in the Feldip Hills area..

The fabled Gnomish city of Arposandra translates as ROCKS CITY.

Page 13 of My notes has a Gnomish entry that has only partially been translated.

[edit] Gnome Stronghold agility course Signpost

The Gnome Stronghold agility course has a signpost with: 3 food images with Eatia Bom Krachis then, Gal prit equa! Aluft doogle sen smai!

  • Refers to Gnome cooking - Eatia (Battas), Bom (Gnomebowls), and Krachis (Crunchies)
  • Equa refers to Equa leaves
  • Using the Translation book, Gal prit equa! translates to "All with Equa!" as all Gnome cooking includes Equa leaves as an ingredient.
  • Aluft doogle sen smai! remains untranslated.
    • Aluft may refer to Aluft Gianne Sr or Aluft Gianne Jr
    • Doogle might refer to Doogle leaves, however it is not included in any Gnome cooking recipes.
    • doogle or sen may be a verb
    • smai may be an adjective of Aluft or Aluft doogle
