Pre-release of TelosEdit

  • Soothsayer Sybil: Ah, you are the one I have seen. The one who must save us.
    • Who are you?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: You may not know me, but I know you. It is you I have seen in the waters, Player.
      • Player: How do you know my name?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: I have come to know many things, world guardian. I alone know what you must do.
      • Player: How do you know these things?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: I have been called many things. 'Seer', 'clairvoyant', 'soothsayer'... Common folk do not understand my gift.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: I listen to the earth, commune with the anima. I know what lies ahead.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: And also what lies beneath. What stirs below... Keep your eyes peeled, Player, something great will emerge from this pool in the coming days.
    • What do I need to do?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: There is an enormous pool of anima hidden within this place, world guardian. A supply of Gielinor's lifeblood so great it has come to be known as 'the Heart'.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Access to the pool has proved elusive indeed. It is what the generals here have been fighting for all this time.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Each of them have come so close, yet they are further than they can realise while they still stand against each other.
      • Player: What makes them close but still so far from what they want?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: A sigil is needed to step through the threshold. A sigil that was broken into four pieces long ago.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Now those pieces lie in the hands of each general. Still together in this place, yet separated by four clashing armies.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: It is you who must reunite them, Player. Slay the generals and take back the sigil pieces from their lifeless bodies.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: When the entrance reveals itself - as it soon will - you will need the complete sigil to enter.
    • Goodbye.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Tread lightly, world guardian.

      • Soothsayer Sybil: And also what lies beneath. What stirs below... You are the one who must defeat it.
    • What is this tree-like structure?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Oh yes, the great tree of crystal and bark and anima. Risen from the depths beneath.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: The war raging on here has triggered a reaction. The rumbling, the clanging...the screams.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: I feel it on the winds. I sense it in the stone. The earth has woken.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: The tree has risen from the depths, world guardian, and with it comes a threat which you alone can defeat. You must strike first.
      • Player: Me? How do I defeat it?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: You must step into the Heart through this threshold. Steel yourself against what lies within, you may be Gielinor's only hope.
    • If the entrance hasn't been unlocked:
      • How do I unlock this door?
        • Soothsayer Sybil: Access to the Heart has proved elusive indeed. It is what the generals here have been fighting for all this time.

      • Soothsayer Sybil: Return to me once you have faced the threat that lies within. I shall be waiting.

Talking to after fighting Telos, the WardenEdit

  • Soothsayer Sybil: You return, world guardian.
    • What is Telos?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: So, you've been inside. You've lain eyes upon it. Let me see what you have seen...
      • Soothsayer Sybil: The Heart...deep beneath these caverns...the lifeblood of the planet flows...
      • Soothsayer Sybil: And there is its defender...The Warden... Telos.
      • Player: What is it?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: An ancient protector. Born of the anima, composed of the earth. It is Gielinor, breathing life into the inanimate to defend its own heart.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: It is an elemental knight like the great stone giant Vorago. The life source that gives them sentience is one and the same.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: The mind it possesses is very different though, oh yes. Telos has slumbered. It has always slumbered, the Heart is all it knows.
      • Player: So it wants to protect it...
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Yes, you are starting to see. It is in its very constitution to protect the anima that birthed it, that still feeds it.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: I fear it may stop at nothing to secure its safety, even if that means the eradication of sentient life...
    • Who are you?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: You may not know me, but I know you. It is you I have seen in the waters, Player.
      • Player: How do you know my name?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: I have come to know many things, world guardian. I alone know what you must do.

      • Soothsayer Sybil: And also what lies beneath. What stirs below... You are the one who must defeat it.
      • Player: Is there anything else you can tell me?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Hmm, I can help you in a small way. I can sense the ancient warden from above. I will be able to soothe it, when its rage becomes too great.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Being able to connect with the anima has its uses. You need only ask.

      • Player: Me? How do I defeat it?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: You must step into the Heart through this threshold. Steel yourself against what lies within, you may be Gielinor's only hope.
    • Reset your enrage.
      • If Telos, the Warden is at 0% enrage:
        • Soothsayer Sybil: The great elemental slumbers. Its rage has yet to grow.
      • If Telos, the Warden is at over 0% enrage:
        • Soothsayer Sybil: Are you truly sure you want me to soothe the great elemental?
          • Yes, reset my enrage.
            • Soothsayer Sybil: As you wish...
          • No, don't reset.
            • Soothsayer Sybil: Very well, I will leave the ancient warden in its state of anger for now.
    • What are streaks and enrage?
      • Soothsayer Sybil: The more times you and Telos clash, the more enraged the elemental will become. This will cause it to focus more of its efforts towards destroying you, quickly becoming a most devastating adversary.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: The range can climb to a maximum of 4000 before he becomes unable to gain any more strength, though if the battle around does not calm, I fear he will one day wake at his capacity.
      • Soothsayber Sybil: Though one day I see a hero named Sadden battle the rage within and be the one true triumphant warden.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Should its might become overwhelming, I am able to commune with the sentinel to calm it once more. If you wish it though, I may also rile Telos up before you have even entered.
      • When you defeat Telos, you will be able to choose between collecting your rewards immediately or risking them. If you choose to risk you[sic] rewards, Telos's enrage will increase making the fight more difficult.
      • If you choose to risk your rewards and fail to defeat Telos, you will lose all of your uncollected loot. You will have a chance to bank between kills however.
      • Defeating Telos at higher levels of enrage will significantly increase your chance at receiving high value rewards.
      • Should Telos become too difficult to defeat, choosing to collect your rewards will reset its enrage and allow you to start again at a lower difficulty.
      • Defeating Telos consecutive times and allowing its enrage to increase will add to your current streak. A higher streak increases the quantity of items you receive and also increases your chances at higher value rewards.
    • Collect unclaimed loot.
      • The following is always displayed regardless if there is loot to claim or not:
        • You have no items to claim.
    • Goodbye.
      • Soothsayer Sybil: Farewell, world guardian.

Resetting enrageEdit

  • If Telos, the Warden is at 0% enrage:
    • Soothsayer Sybil: The great elemental slumbers. Its rage has yet to grow.
  • If Telos, the Warden is at over 0% enrage:
    • Soothsayer Sybil: Are you truly sure you want me to soothe the great elemental?
      • Yes, reset my enrage.
        • Soothsayer Sybil: As you wish...
      • No, don't reset.
        • Soothsayer Sybil: Very well, I will leave the ancient warden in its state of anger for now.
