DialogueEdit

Conversation 1
  • Sifu: The inexperienced throw themselves in battle while the wise wait for the battle to come to them. Those who attack first often make mistakes.
  • Player: But what if they're not attacking me at all?
  • Sifu: Then maybe they are not a worthy target and shouldn't be at the receiving end of your weapon.
  • Player: But... What if I've been told to kill them?
  • Sifu: Do not let orders blind you from what is right, thinking the moral responsibility lays with the person who gave you the order. You have the power to make the right decision.
  • Player: So... What's your opinion of Slayer, then?
  • Sifu: Wanton destruction, misplaced righteousness overriding common sense unless used wisely to protect what we hold dear. What is your perception?
    • Player: It's another skill to level up.
      • Sifu: A balanced character is good, but beware how you achieve this balance.
        • Sifu: Now go. This conversation is over.
          • Player: Thank you.
    • Player: I love a good bit of monster bashing.
      • Sifu: But who is the monster?
        • Sifu: Now go. This conversation is over.
          • Player: Thank you.
    • Player: It's a good way of testing my mettle.
      • Sifu: Challenges will come, in time. It is healthy to challenge yourself, but don't let it blind you.
        • Sifu: Now go. This conversation is over.
          • Player: Thank you.
    • Player: I'm not so sure anymore.
      • Sifu: Take some time to consider your own views.
        • Sifu: Now go. This conversation is over.
          • Player: Thank you.
    • Player: It's barbaric.
      • Sifu: Yet sometimes, it is a necessity. Trust yourself to do the right thing.
        • Sifu: Now go. This conversation is over.
          • Player: Thank you.
Conversation 2
  • Sifu: To know when to strike, all senses are important, not just sight.
  • Player: Are you actually blind?
  • Sifu: Whether I am blind or not matters not. Without sight, I train myself to use other ways to perceive so that sight may not matter. The sound of a lurch, the smell of the assailant, the pressure of the air changing on my scales as the weapon whizzes by. I am acutely aware of my position and environment, freed of visual distractions.
  • Player: But you're missing out on that outfit I saw the other day with larupia-skin leggings, an ogre belly, peg legs, bird head and a bright pink cape!
  • Sifu: I rest my case.
Conversation 3
  • Sifu: The mosquito may be small, but is deadlier than you will ever be.
  • Player: Your point being?
  • Sifu: Attack is not a competition. It is not a race. It is not about flailing wildly. It is an Art. Knowing to chose[sic] the best weapon, the best move for the task at hand. It is tactical. One careful and accurate strike can do as much damage as a hundred careless flurries.
  • Player: Easier to say than to do.
  • Sifu: Then more practice is required. Good luck.
