Lodestone Network[]

  • Gudrik: Now I need to tell you about the lodestone network. Gielinor is a big place, so most people use the lodestone network to get around. To travel between lodestones, you'll need to use the Home Teleport spell. Don't worry - it's a doddle.

          • Gudrik: I used to be an adventurer just like you. I've probably explored every dungeon, ruin and tomb in Gielinor! But that was many moons ago, back when I still had all my limbs! These days I prefer to leave the fighting to others.

          • Gudrik: Of course, what do you want to know?
            • Can you tell me about Gielinor's history?
              • Gudrik: Our recorded history goes back about 12,000 years, and is divided into six ages, each one representing an important period in Gielinor's history. The Sixth Age - which we're in now - began when the god Guthix was killed. After that, the younger gods began to return to the world. It's a time of great change...and great danger.

              • Gudrik: There are lots of different cultures in the world, some friendly, some not so friendly. Humans are the most numerous, of course, but dwarves and goblins are also pretty common. Upon entering the Lumbridge Catacombs[]

  • [Use the mouse wheel, WASD or arrow keys to move the camera. Use the mouse wheel or page keys to zoom the camera.]

Prior to the fight with Kayle[]

  • [Open the Powers interface.]
  • [Here you will find all your abilities and prayers. Success in combat depends on careful use of these powers.]
  • [This interface allows you to add abilities to your action bar so you can use them in combat.]
  • [Left-click the Slaughter ability and drag it into your action bar.]
  • [Now you can use the Slaughter ability in combat.]
  • [Now left-click the Overpower ability and drag it into your action bar.]
  • [Some basic abilities can only be used with adrenaline. Whenever you use a Basic ability, you will build up adrenaline.]

Treasure Hunter[]

    • You have earned the pathfinder hood.
    • You have earned the pathfinder jacket.
  • If you do not have two free inventory spaces: 
    • ​You need two extra inventory slots to receive extra rewards. Speak to Gudrik in Taverley to claim your path armour.

Skills[]

  • [You've just received an XP lamp, which can be rubbed to increase your skills.]

World map[]

As Gideon Bede sends you to claim Silverlight[]

  • [The blue border on your minimap shows the area containing your current quest objective.]

At the start of the Trial of Faith[]

  • [You can use WASD, the arrow keys or middle mouse button to move the camera.]
  • [The compass shows which way is north. Clicking it resets the camera.]

Banking tutorial[]

  • [The bank can be used to store any items you don't want to carry. To deposit an item in the bank, simply left-click it.]
  • [This button can be used to set a PIN, to keep your items safe. Once you have set a pin, you will need to use it the first time you access the bank after login.]
  • [This button can be used to convert your items into bank notes, which take up only one backpack space, and can be freely traded.]
  • [This is the amount of available bank space you have. The number on the right is the space given to members.]
  • [These buttons can be used to deposit all the items from your backpack, person, beast of burden, or coin pouch with a single click.]
  • [Remember, you can access your items at any bank in game.]

Trading tutorial[]

  • [RuneScape contains a variety of shops where you can buy and sell items.]
  • [These are the items the shop is selling. You can scroll down to see more.]
  • [To purchase an item, simply left-click it.]
  • [And then click the buy button.]
  • [To sell an item, click on the sell items tab.]
  • [Select the item you want to sell.]
  • [And then click the sell button.]

Challenge System tutorial[]

  • Challenge Mistress Fara: Hey, stretch, if you're looking for something to do you've come to the right place! I can assign you some basic challenges from my list. These are daily challenges which I'll reward you for if you complete them. Just bring me anything you collect and I'll give you something useful in return. It's simple - just pick one of the challenges I assign you, complete it, and come see me for a reward. You'll need to give me anything you collect, of course, but the rewards I give out are much better! So, what are you waiting for, beanpole? Go get started!

  • Challenge Mistress Fara: Nice work out there, you've ticked off all my basic challenges. Not such a rookie after all! Now that's all done you can see all the tasks I have for you, but I'll only reward you for the daily challenges I assign you specifically. Oh and one more thing, I found a baby troll sniffing around my things. Could you look after it for me? Thanks!
  • You have adopted a baby troll pet! To have him follow you, open your inventory and click on him.
  • You can feed the baby troll by using an object on him from your inventory. Watch out! If he likes how it tastes, you won't get it back!

Talking to Challenge Mistress Fara[]

  • Challenge Mistress Fara: Looks like you've completed all the basic challenges, stretch! You should move onto the next task.

Upon completing the Challenge System tutorial[]

Pathfinder armour[]

  • If you have one free inventory space: 
    • You have earned the Amulet of Potency.
  • If you have no free inventory spaces: 
    • ​You have earned the Amulet of Potency, but don't have room for it. Speak to Gudrik in Taverley to claim it.

Pathfinder armour[]

  • If you have one free inventory space: 
    • You have earned the pathfinder cape.
  • If you have no free inventory spaces: 
    • You need one free inventory space to claim the pathfinder cape.

Milestones[]

Upon picking up a stack of multiple items for the first time[]

  • There is a new loot system! This can be enabled, disabled and configured within Gameplay Settings by using the new Loot Options button.

Upon filling all of your inventory spaces with items[]

  • [Your backpack is almost full! You might want to think about depositing some items in a bank.]
  • [You can safely store items in any bank in Gielinor. Banks are marked on both the world map and the minimap.]
  • [Alternatively, if you want to get rid of an item, you can right-click and select drop or destroy.]

Upon burying all Bones in your inventory[]

  • [You've run out of bones! You can collect more by killing cows or other creatures.]

Upon burning food for the first time[]

  • [You have burned your food! When you first start cooking, there is a chance you will burn your food.]
  • [As your Cooking skill improves, your chances of success will increase.]
  • [Burnt food has no value, so the best thing to do is discard it.]
  • [Right-click the burnt food and select drop, or left-click it and drag it from your backpack.]

Upon exhausting run energy for the first time[]

  • [You are too tired to run. To rest and recover your energy, right-click the running man icon at the top-right of the minimap.]

Upon reaching Magic level 5[]

  • Continued use of the Air Rush spell is not recommended at this Magic level. You will find more benefit from using runes to cast higher-level spells.

Upon completing the Path[]

Talking to Gudrik[]

  • If you do not have at least one free inventory space:
    • Gudrik: You don't have much room in your backpack - make some space and I'll give you your reward.
  • If you do have at least one free inventory space:
    • Gudrik: Well it's been a long road, [laddie/lassie], and you've faced many dangers, but you've shown true bravery. Now your journey's over - or this part of it, anyway. I've got a little something for you. It's not much, but it should come in handy on any future adventures.
    • Gudrik gives you the Ring of Potency.
    • Gudrik: All that's left to do is wish you good luck. Just remember that, wherever you go, I'll be thinking of you.
