During Build-A-FayreEdit

When talked toEdit

  • Menowin: Salutations! It's grand to see you. Have you come to help?
  • Player: What do you need to help?
  • Menowin: We're setting up a fayre. Well, a helter skelter first and foremost, as the centrepiece of the whole shebang. Are you in?
  • Player: What needs doing?
    • (Only during day 1 of the event:)
      • Menowin: Today's tasks are to get a magical tree grown in the crater to use as our base structure, using magic and farming.
      • Player: Can you tell me more?
      • Menowin: You can't build a helter skelter without a good sturdy base. There's nothing better for that than a tree. And, indeed, to get a tree as quickly as we need it, we need to employ some magic. If you have any magical knowledge that you can contribute, I'd love some help growing the tree. Of course, it will need tending too, so anyone with farming knowledge is welcome to help. We don't want it growing out of control.
      • (Continues below.)
    • (Only during day 2 of the event:)
      • Menowin: Today we'll need to create the platform base for the structure to sit on, and to cleanse the area using Divination.
      • Player: Can you tell me more?
      • Menowin: The tree is magnificent, a perfect start for the helter skelter. Today we need to build the platform across the crater for the helter skelter to sit on. We'll need to build it around the tree trunk, of course, which needs a bit of a trim. If that seems a bit strenuous, we need to finish off cleansing the area. It was a bigger job than I first expected. So, if you could help out with Divination I'd be very grateful.
      • (Continues below.)
    • (Only during day 3 of the event:)
      • Menowin: With the basics in place, today is the day to start building the basic frame. You'll need to be strong and agile!
      • Player: Can you tell me more?
      • Menowin: We have the platform, so now the real fun can start with building the frame. It'll be fantastic to be able to see the scale of it when the frame is finished. It's heavy work, though. We need the strongest and most agile to help with this stage. It's not pretty work, but it is satisfying!
      • (Continues below.)
    • (Only during day 4 of the event:)
      • Menowin: Those with skill in Construction can help build the main structure of the helter skelter. If Cooking takes your fancy more, help us make up batches of grease.
      • Player: Can you tell me more?
      • Menowin: Isn't it grand? It's really coming on leaps and bounds now - we'll be finished in no time. I need skilled construction workers for today, to really bring the main structure together on top of the frame. However, we need to think about when it is up and running too. We'll need some grease for the slide. This'll really help the riders slide down smoothly. It's hot work though, but if you like a bit of cooking, it could be just the right fit.
      • (Continues below.)
    • (Only during day 5 of the event:)
      • Menowin: The grease needs its final tweaks, some herblore knowledge should be able to help. Also, it's time to smith the slide.
      • Player: Can you tell me more?
      • Menowin: The grease is coming along well, but it's not quite slippery enough yet. If you have Herblore knowledge we could do with your help to tweak the recipe, make it really good and viscous. If the smell of the grease is getting to you, though, we need help with the crowning glory for the helter skelter. A helter skelter is only as good as its slide, and we need skilled smithers to help make it. This is where it really becomes the star of the show.
      • (Continues below.)
    • (Only during day 6 of the event:)
      • Menowin: Doesn't it look majestic? It needs a good coat of paint to finish it. Oh, and we should protect it with runecrafting also.
      • Player: Can you tell me more?
      • Menowin: The excitement is palpable! We're almost finished. It's time to get arty and bring your crafting skills to the fore to decorate this masterpiece. But, of course, we need to take into account the practicalities of the ride too. We've got the grease, and a well formed slide, but we should make sure that all who ride her are protected. We need to use Runecrafting to protect the helter skelter and all those who ride her.
      • (Continues below.)
    • Are there any rewards?
      • Menowin: Of course there are rewards! Couldn't have you helping for nothing. I have been gathering together a selection of items which you can use to help further train your skills. The more people that help, the more free time I have to collect items to hand out at the end.
      • Player: Are there any other rewards?
      • Menowin: Well if that isn't enough for you, you also have the masses of training to do here! There is nothing better than self-improvement.
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • How long will you be here for?
      • (On days 1-5:)
        • Menowin: We are still working to my estimate and should take another [five days/four days/three days/two days/day] after this to complete the work.
        • (Returns to the previous options.)
      • (On day 6:)
        • Menowin: With all the hard work people have been putting in, I think we should be finished today!
        • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • That's all for now.
      • Menowin: May you be showered with kindness.

When claiming rewardsEdit

Without enough community progressEdit

  • Menowin: Of course there are rewards! Couldn't have you helping for nothing. I have been lucky enough to come across a powerful staff, that I think will be just the thing. The more people that help, the more chance I have to increase the power of the staff.
  • Player: Are there any other rewards?
  • Menowin: Well if that isn't enough for you, you also have the masses of training to do here! There is nothing better than self-improvement. We haven't started building yet though, so come back soon to be able to help and earn your rewards.

With enough community progress but no rewards to claimEdit

  • Menowin: You don't have any rewards to claim at the moment.

After Build-A-Fayre and before Spring FayreEdit

When talked toEdit

  • Menowin: Thank you for your help building the helter skelter.
  • (If there are unclaimed mystery boxes:)
    • Menowin: Looks like you had some unclaimed rewards. I've added them to your inventory.
    • (Continues below.)
  • (If tools are owned:)
    • Menowin: You have tools left over that I'll take off your hands. For each tool I'll give you a lesson in a skill of your choice.
    • Hand tools over?
      • Yes.
        • You have been awarded [amount] XP in [skill]!
        • (Continues below.)
      • No.
        • (Continues below.)
  • Menowin: It makes a striking centrepiece for our fayre. I hope that you will spend some time with us, and have some fun at the fayre, after all the help you have given us.

During Spring FayreEdit

When talked toEdit

  • (If not selected last:)
    • Who are you?
      • Menowin: Greetings young one. My name is Menowin, and I'm in charge of the rabble who have set up this fayre. Beautiful, isn't it? The grandest site in all of Gielinor, I'd like to believe.
      • Menowin: We're here for four weeks in total and you'll receive free ride tokens every day, so that you can try out all of the activities.
      • Menowin: Our attractions have different costs, but they're all listed on the attractions themselves. If you miss on an attraction, don't worry, you won't get charged.
      • Menowin: You'll also receive prize tickets as you take part in the fayre, and these can be exchanged for lovely prizes at our three stores.
      • Menowin: You can also get more tokens and tickets at any time for Rune Coins[sic], by going to our stall by the Bucking Baroo.
      • (Returns to the initial options.)
  • (If not selected last:)
    • Why are you here?
      • Menowin: The beauty and the freedom of the fayre! I believe that there is nothing more rewarding than letting your hair down, and just having fun in a safe, and interesting environment.
      • Menowin: I am here to bring this spectacle to you, and yours, for the joy that it brings!
      • Player: Why here, in the crater?
      • Menowin: Why not here? Indeed, this area is a beautiful place to start with, and is only improved upon with the grandeur of our fayre.
      • Menowin: We travel the world, and set up our fayre where we feel it will bring the most joy to the inhabitants of the area.
      • Menowin: This seemed like a perfect place, as it is so central to many areas. The more the merrier, I always say!
      • (Returns to the initial options.)
  • (If not selected last:)
    • Where are you from?
      • Menowin: It has been a long time since I was home. I have been travelling the world for my whole life.
      • Menowin: My mother ran a mobile theatre, very similar to the creation that I have brought to you here. I am a child of the road, of the path less trodden.
      • Menowin: If I try to stay in one place, the wanderlust gets to me, and I have to make my move. No need to worry, though, I'm looking to stay here for a while.
      • Menowin: However, the true answer to your question I am unsure of.
      • Menowin: From the stories my mother told me when I was a child I know I was born in the desert, but do not know the name of the town itself.
      • (Returns to the initial options.)
  • (If not selected last:)
    • Where are the other people who help you from?
      • Menowin: My merry band of friends! They're from all over, like me. The fayre seems to attract those of a travelling nature.
      • Menowin: Anyone who has a skill, and requests to join me, is welcome in our little family. The more the merrier!
      • (Returns to the initial options.)
  • What is there to do at the fayre?
    • Helter skelter.
      • Menowin: The shining beacon at the centre of my fayre. Its[sic] our crowning glory.
      • Menowin: Thank you so much for your help in building it. It takes a while to set up, as we move from place to place, but I always find there are many willing helpful hands at the places we travel to.
      • Menowin: In fact, that's how I know I have found the right place to set up. Also, its[sic] great advertising.
      • Menowin: Have you ridden it yet?
      • (If the Helter Skelter hasn't been ridden:)
        • (Transcript missing. edit)
      • (If the Helter Skelter has been ridden:)
        • Player: Yes[sic]
        • Menowin: Ah, well then you will know the glorious feeling of sliding down it, without a care in the world, being free to just let life take you where it wishes.
        • Player: That's a bit deep isn't it? It's just a slide?
        • Menowin: Just a slide?! Its[sic] more than that.
        • Menowin: It will transport you to a different time and place, a time when all you had to worry about was finding the next fun adventure, or when it was time to go home for food.
        • Player: Oh, OK then.
        • Menowin: Ride it, and you will see what I mean.
        • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • Candy Floss stall.
      • Menowin: Ah, sugary sweetness at its best. If you enjoy Cooking, then you might want to try your hand at this.
      • Menowin: Just remember, melted sugar is a pain to get off clothes, so be careful!
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • Test of strength.
      • Menowin: Isn't it magnificent?
      • Player: You mean because it has your picture on it?
      • Menowin: Why indeed! It's a true likeness. I love seeing it all lit up.
      • Menowin: Although, I'm not sure if you have the required force to be able to make it light up.
      • Menowin: Do you think you're strong enough to make the bell ring?
      • Player: Of course!
      • Menowin: Time shall tell. I'll listen out for the bell.
      • (Returns to the previous options.)
    • More.
      • Bucking baroo.
        • Menowin: One of our centerpieces. We're famous for our yak rides across the land.
        • Menowin: The lovely Prez brought the first machine to us some time ago, and has been manning the ride ever since. We've had to make a replacement one now, of course, because they're so popular.
        • Player: How does it work?
        • Menowin: It's quite simple, you climb on it and ride it for as long as you can! I can't get the hang of it myself, but people seem to think it's a lot of fun.
        • (Returns to the previous options.)
      • Funhouse.
        • Menowin: A castle where you can truly run amok! Full of fiendish obstacles and traps, can you make your way through the maze without getting lost? A true test of one's Agility.
        • (Returns to the previous options.)
      • Fortune-telling.
        • Menowin: Ah, we have two different ways for you to find out your fortune. The mystical Kristlin will read the cards that you choose, and divine your fortune from that.
        • Menowin: Very accurate, I have to say!
        • Menowin: Then there's The Mighty Zoltan. Our original fortune-telling machine. It's gone a bit haywire over the years, and now it jus seems to be very grumpy and sad.
        • Menowin: If you decide to get a fortune from it, be warned, it is likely not to be cheery. We call them mis-fortunes.
        • Menowin: I keep the machine around though. Its[sic] kind of adorable really, deep down.
        • (Returns to the previous options.)
      • More.
        • Pickaxe wanging.
          • Menowin: I have been rather surprised at the number of people who I have met on my travels who don't know what wanging is. Do you know?
            • Yes[sic]
              • Menowin: Ah, well, in that case get your wanging muscles warmed up and have a go at throwing those pickaxes!
              • (Returns to the options with pickaxe wanging.)
            • I could have a guess.
              • Menowin: Ah, well, it's almost certainly what you are thinking.
              • Menowin: It's throwing underarm. A wonderful little word don't you think?
              • (Returns to the options with pickaxe wanging.)
            • No.
              • Menowin: A-ha. Well, I'm happy to enlighten you. It's throwing underarm. A wonderful little word, isn't it?
              • Menowin: All you need to do is grab one of the pickaxes and aim, throwing as hard as you can and try to hit one of the targets.
              • (Returns to the options with pickaxe wanging.)
        • Dancing.
          • Menowin: The elegance of dance, coupled with a mindful offering of Prayer. A perfect way to become one with the world, and to celebrate life in all its colours.
          • Menowin: Mixie and Dixie are fabulous dancers, and to be able to join in with them and learn the moves is such a treat.
          • (Returns to the previous options.)
        • Trixie
          • Menowin: Ah, the beautiful and mysterious Trixie, or at least that's what she'd like you to think. She's always got something up her sleeve.
          • Menowin: She always seems to have whatever I need when I ask for it, no matter how outlandish my requirements!
          • Menowin: She's always looking for an extra pair of hands, though, so go and have a chat. She may have some work for you.
          • (Returns to the previous options.)
        • More.
          • Egg shy.
            • Menowin: A good staple of the fayre. Everyone loves throwing things at a target, and eggs make the most satisfying thud, don't you think?
            • Menowin: Choose your weapon of choice. We have three different types of balls to choose from, and throw away.
            • (Returns to the previous options.)
          • Hook-a-duck.
            • Menowin: Aren't they adorable? Little wooden ducks with hooks on their heads! If you can grab one with one of our rods then you'll score yourself a reward.
            • Menowin: We have a number of different rods to choose from.
            • Menowin: Everyone has their own preference you see? So choose wisely.
            • (Returns to the previous options.)
          • Chinchompa hunt.
            • Menowin: A-ha, the magical chinchompa hunt. A lovely little design, I think. It's a little magical map where you try to find all of the hidden little creatures.
            • Menowin: Each square is guarding a prize, either something wonderful or maybe something perfectly normal, like a cabbage. Who doesn't like cabbage though, right?
            • Menowin: They also have some very special prizes that they are guarding: special outfits.
            • Menowin: You can try to find all of the pieces through the map, or, if you aren't deft at finding those pesky chinchompas, you can buy them directly too.
            • (Returns to the previous options.)
          • More.
            • Prizes.
              • Menowin: It's always lovely to buy a memento of happy times so that you can look back fondly in the future.
              • Menowin: We have various different types of souvenirs on offer, so there should hopefully be something for everyone.
              • Menowin: Talk to Rixie for your bits and bobs, or for your more flamboyant needs talk to Nixie. Of course, if you're yak mad then you'll want to talk to Prez by the bucking baroo.
              • (Returns to the previous options.)
            • Portals.
              • Menowin: They're how we build the fayre so quickly! Fantastic inventions. I've never really worked out how to set them up myself, but we have some skilled hands on the team.
              • Menowin: Rixie is the one that sets them up for us. You'll have to ask him if you want to know how they run, it's all gobbledygook to me.
              • Menowin: Using them is a blast though! Simply step through any of the portals while they are active and boom you're there.
              • (Returns to the previous options.)
            • More.
              • (Rolls back to the options with the helter skelter.)
            • Ask about something else.
              • (Returns to the initial options.)
          • Ask about something else.
            • (Returns to the initial options.)
        • Ask about something else.
          • (Returns to the initial options.)
      • Ask about something else.
        • (Returns to the initial options.)
    • Ask about something else.
      • (Returns to the initial options.)
  • (Only if something else was asked last:)
    • Bye.
      • Menowin: May you be showered with kindness.
