This transcript involves dialogue with Bosun Higgs, Jacob Higgs, and Rosie (supplies).

Starting the miniquestEdit

  • Bosun Higgs We're going to Goshima, captain.
  • Player: We are?
    • ACCEPT
    • Bosun Higgs I came along with you to find my brother, remember. Jed said he'd sold him to Goshima's khan. Cora works for Goshima's khan. That's where we're going.
    • Navigator Jemi: The waters around Goshima are dangerous. The ship won't make it in this state!
    • Player: Okay, you're right, both of you. We should go to Goshima and search for Jacob...but not before we've made some repairs to the ship.
    • Bosun Higgs Fine, I can repair the ship, but I'll need some materials. I also don't wanna get caught short if we encounter anything like the Harbinger again - the Revenge needs guns!
  • If starting mini-quest off of Waiko
    • Bosun Higgs Next time we're on Waiko, I'll need some lumber from Rosie to effect repairs. Don't forget to ask about a cannon.
  • If starting mini-quest on Waiko
    • Bosun Higgs Since we're on Waiko, stop by Rosie the chandler to get me some lumber to effect repairs. Also, don't forget to ask about a cannon.
    • DECLINE
    • Terminates conversation
  • Talking to Evie again (any Island except Waiko)
    • Bosun Higgs Next time we're on Waiko, I'll need some lumber from Rosie to effect repairs. Don't forget to ask about a cannon.

Arriving on WaikoEdit

  • Bosun Higgs Since we're on Waiko, stop by Rosie the chandler to get me some lumber to effect repairs. Also, don't forget to ask about a cannon.
  • Rosie: Hi, [Player], how's things?
  • Player: Not so great, Rosie. My ship's a bit beaten up - we had a run-in with the Harbinger and need some materials to fix it. Lumber, sail, sealant...that sort of thing.
  • Rosie: You survived an encounter with a myth? Ha! Sure it wasn't just some pirates? Somebody seems to have done quite a number on your ship, that's for certain.
  • Rosie: Assessing the damage, I'd say you're looking at 2,500 chimes to cover materials for repair.
  • Player: Sound[sic] fair. And how much for a cannon?
  • Rosie: I can't sell you cannons! I'll lose my vendor's license[sic]! If you want cannons, you go to the Skull region - we're traders her in the Arc, not pirates.
  • Player: I have to be able to protect my ship and crew.
  • Rosie: Look, I sympathise, I really do, but I can't help you. You seem a good crew - even that Gully is growing on me. He's alright if you look past all the scars, the weirdness, the awkwardness, the smell and that seagull on his shoulder.
  • Rosie: Tell you what, I can give you some free information...If there's something you can't buy, salvage it. I've had a tip that Goshima is pretty rich for salvage these days.
  • Rosie: Even since they cut themselves off from the Arc, they don't take kindly to visitors - anyone going near gets shot at. Goshima's pretty close to some gunning islands in the Skull region too.
  • Rosie: And most folk are scared of travelling there. There's all sort of rumours about that place. Maybe you can find what you need there...
  • Player: Okay, Rosie, thanks for the tip. I don't want to get you into trouble. Just make it the repair kit, then.
    • Confirm payment
    • Give the chandler 2,500 chimes for a ship repair kit?
    • Cancel
      • Terminates conversation
    • Ok
      • You are now the proud owner of a ship repair kit
    • Talking to Rosie after receiving the ship repair kit
    • Player: What was that tip about cannons again?
    • Rosie: Try salvaging one from the wrecks on Goshima. You didn't hear that from em, though, right?
      • -If you don't have enough Chimes-
      • Player: Any chance of credit? I only have X chimes on me.
      • Rosie: Hahaha!
      • Rosie: No.
      • -If you lost the kit-
      • Player: So, you know that ship repair kit I bought from you?
      • Rosie: You've lost it, haven't you?
      • Player: Yes.
      • The Chandler rolls her eyes and gives you another ship repair kit.
  • -Talking to Evie before payment is made-
  • Player: The chandler can supply materials to repair our ship. I just need to pay her for them.
  • Bosun Higgs: What do you want from me? Moral support? A back rub? I can't repair the ship with my bare hands. I'm not a miracle worker, captain.
  • -Talking to Evie if you don't have the kit-
  • Player: I've got the lumber for repairs.
  • Bosun Higgs: No, you don't.
  • Player: Good point. Well made. I'll go get the ship repair kit. Be right back.
  • -Talking to Evie if you have the kit on you-
  • Player: I've got the lumber for repairs. Unfortunately, Rosie can't get us a cannon, however, she did suggest we might be able to salvage one from the wrecks on Goshima.
  • Player: Apparently, Goshima hasn't been too fond of receiving 'guests' in the past, plus its proximity to the Skull region sees it 'hosting' lots of gunrunners.
  • Bosun Higgs: Then it's just as well Goshima's where we're headed next, right, captain? The Revenge is seaworthy - I can make the necessary repairs en route, so let's get going!
  • -You give the bosun the supplies and set sail for Goshima.

Arriving on GoshimaEdit

  • Bosun Higgs: The revenge is as good as new, captain. In fact, it's better - whoever built this in the first place did some shoddy work.
  • Player: I thought they did alright, actually!
  • Player: Evie, you've been patient in getting here - I appreciate that. Promise me you'll be cautious exploring this place.
  • Player: You go look for Jacob. I'll keep an eye out for him too, but leave the cannon salvage to me.
  • Bosun Higgs: You've got a deal, captain.
  • Navigator Jemi: Both of you be careful out there. I have a bad feeling about this place. It's eerily quiet.
  • Finding the gunpowder
  • You empty the barrel of gunpowder into your backpack, This couldn't possibly end badly.
  • Finding the Azure globe
  • You liberate the azure globe.
  • Finding the broom.
  • You slide the long pole into your backpack. It may make you walk funny.
  • Finding the rope.
  • You clip a fuse from the coil of rope and add it to your backpack.
  • Finding the cannon barrel.
  • You retrieve the cannon barrel and take it with you.
  • Finding the cart.
  • You dismantle the cart and stuff the base into your backpack.
  • After finding all 6 items
  • Player: That should be everything the bosun needs to build a makeshift cannon.
  • Player: I also said I'd look for Jacob, though. I should bring her some evidence that I made an effort.
  • If holding the note
  • Player: I'll also take this note for Evie.
    • Talking to Evie while salvaging the cannon.
    • You have found 0/6 components required to build a makeshift cannon.
    • You have found 1/6 components required to build a makeshift cannon.
    • Player: I haven't seen any sign of Jacob yet. How about you?
    • Bosun Higgs: Nothing yet. This place is dead...
    • Bosun Higgs: Jacob had better be okay...the idiot.
    • You have found 2/6 components required to build a makeshift cannon.
    • Player: I haven't seen any sign of Jacob yet. How about you?
    • Bosun Higgs: Nothing yet. This place is dead...
    • Bosun Higgs: Jacob had better be okay...the idiot.
    • Bosun Higgs: Take my mind off it; how's the hunt for a cannon going?
    • Player: Hmm, there aren't any intact ones so far. I am finding things that we could use to build a makeshift one though.
    • Bosun Higgs: Sounds like a fun project. I've had to makeshift something similar on the battlefield before.
    • You have found 3/6 components required to build a makeshift cannon.
    • [Same conversation as before]
    • You have found 4/6 components required to build a makeshift cannon.
    • [Same conversation as before]
    • You have found 5/6 components required to build a makeshift cannon.
    • [Same conversation as before]
  • Bosun Higgs: Nice! You've got enough salvage there for me to makeshift a decent cannon.
  • Player: Are you all okay? There's something creepy and dangerous wandering around out there. Oh yeah, and it appears that everybody's dead.
  • Bosun Higgs: But this is where Jed left my brother. He's dead, isn't he?
  • Player: I've seen no sign of him, but I did find a note on a post near Goshima's gate. I think it might be from Jacob.
  • Bosun Higgs: Where? Show me?
    • If you have picked up Jacob's note and don't have it on you
  • Player: Oh, I left it behind.
  • Bosun Higgs: Hey, I'm happy to build us a cannon, but if this note is from Jacob I need to see it!
  • Player: I'll go get it again.
    • If you have Jacobs not on you (and haven't read it)
  • Player: Here's the note and all the parts for the cannon.
  • Bosun Higgs: It's from him! He's alive! Aw, shut up, Jacob, I'm not going home now.
  • Bosun Higgs: He says he sailed further east. What's there?
  • Navigator Jemi: It's the next region over - the Skull. They make gunpowder there; it's not a safe place.
  • Bosun Higgs: Well, if he thinks I'd just head back home, he can do one. Looks like you're stuck with me a while longer, captain.
  • Player: Hey, as long as the Revenge gets a cannon out of it, I think I can live with that.
  • Bosun Higgs: Right on it, one cannon coming up!
