Top hats are obtained as rewards from level 3 Treasure Trails. As they were added fairly recently, they are not as common as other Treasure Trail rewards.

This item is commonly worn with a set of Black elegant, an Amulet of fury, Pirate boots, and a black cane, which will make the wearer look like a wealthy gentleman from an old time period.

• The examine info may be a reference to a magic trick done by illusionists which they would pull out a rabbit out from their top hats.
• After its release, this item has seen an amazing spike in price. During its initial induction to the game it was set from around 500,000 to 600,000 coins on the Grand Exchange. As the demand of the item grew rapidly with little quantity, prices grew to upwards and excess of 4,000,000 coins. On 11 May, the hat dropped to its lowest, around 76.4k. Recently it has begun to rise once more.
• Instead of wearing the top hat with the brim resting on the character's ears, it is worn on the very top of the player's head.
