Detailed image of the Toktz-ket-xil

The Toktz-ket-xil (also known as the Obsidian shield or Obby shield) is an obsidian shield that requires at least 60 Defence to wield. Its defensive stats are the exact same as the granite shield's, but what makes this shield a more popular choice is its +5 strength bonus, despite its lower defence bonuses and higher price than a Rune kiteshield. Its strength bonus equals that provided by a Rune defender but it does not provide attack bonuses. Thus, it is quite popular among players who want a strength bonus and better defence. To obtain an obsidian shield, either buy one from the weapon shop in the TzHaar city, trade with another player, or obtain one as a monster drop from a TzHaar-Ket. It can be sold at TzHaar-Hur-Tels shop for 27,000 tokkul.

This piece of equipment cannot be made using any skills.

[edit] Trivia

  • Toktz-ket-xil translates to Sharp Obsidian Defender while the direct translation is Obsidian-defender-sharp.
  • Obsidian as a rock resembles granite chemically, which explains why the Obsidian shield is identical to the Granite Shield in defence bonuses.
  • Players will often use this item as a substitute for the Dragon Square Shield if they have not yet completed Legend's Quest.
