Tin ore

Tin ore is an ore used to create the metal alloy bronze. Tin ore, along with copper ore, is the first ore a player can mine through the Mining skill, and the rocks it is mined from are found at various mines. One of the best mines is the East Varrock Mine, as it is near a bank and the Grand Exchange. Mining a tin ore grants 17.5 Mining experience for each ore mined. A player can smelt tin ore into a bronze bar through the Smithing skill by using it on a furnace along with a copper ore, granting 6.25 Smithing experience.

[edit] Making Money

Now that Copper Ore and Tin Ore are about the same price, you could still make a decent profit by smelting them into a Bronze Bar, gaining Smithing Experience.

Tin rocks can be found in many mines, including:

[edit] Money-making

For new players, tin is ideal for money-making in the mining skill, because it sells for more than copper in the Grand Exchange and requires level 1 mining to mine.

[edit] Respawn rate

Tin ore, like all other mined rocks, respawns at a rate directly proportional to the number of people in the rock's RuneScape world. If the world is empty, the ore respawns in 4 seconds; if it is full (with 2000 players), it respawns in 2 seconds. Thus the respawn rate of tin ore is

math seconds,

where x is the number of players in the world.

A table of respawn rates is given below.

Players 0 200 400 600 800 1000 1200 1400 1600 1800 2000
Respawn time 4.0 s 3.8 s 3.6 s 3.4 s 3.2 s 3.0 s 2.8 s 2.6 s 2.4 s 2.2 s 2.0 s

It is worthwhile to note that tin ore has the same respawn rate as copper ore.
