Throwing knife

Throwing knives are a type of members-only Ranged projectile. They can be poisoned and wielded with shields and prayer books for protection.
Throwing knives are created via Smithing. Each bar will produce 5 knives of the corresponding metal.
Throwing knives are among the fastest weapons in the game (along with darts), and it is for this reason that most people prefer to use knives (or darts) when training their Ranged. Knives have a slightly increased attack range, and are stronger than darts, but are approximately 1/5 slower. Bronze, iron, and steel throwing knives are often used to train Ranged since they hit very fast and are pretty accurate.
