Third-age mage hat detail

The Third-age mage hat is a member's only piece of armour that is part of the Third-age mage set. To wear the mage hat the player needs at least 65 Defence and 65 Magic. To obtain a Third-age mage hat the player can either receive one from a level 3 Treasure trail, buy it on the GE, or buy from another player.

Third-age mage hat chathead

The hat is currently the seventh best mage item worn in the headwear slot in the game, beaten by the Ahrim's hood, Akrisae's hood, Hood of subjugation, Ganodermic visor, Zuriel's Hood, and Virtus Mask.

It was long thought that the chance of obtaining a piece of third-age armour was about 1 in 10,000 (according to Paul Gower); it was revealed that the odds are between 1 in 100,000 and 1 in 1,000,000.[1]
