The Diary of Dawnsu is a book found in the Grand Library of Menaphos. It is obtained from the first bookcase on the northern wall in the north-west corner on the top floor.

Dear diary,
They're arguing again. Dad keeps coughing. He can't stop and mum doesn't like it. She looks angry. No, maybe sad? I got sent to my room while they fight. It's not fair! Someone planted a cactus outside my bedroom window. Odd.
Dear diary,
Mum's not telling me what's going on, but I know. I know. They took my Dad away in the night. They were doctors. He's got Klenter's Fever, I just know it. They've taken the cactus away again. Shame, I kinda like it.
Dear diary,
Mum's sad again. She's got to work a lot now that Dad's with the doctors. She looks tired. I try to help, but I'm too little be really useful. On the bright side, the cactus is back!
Dear diary,
It happened again; it moved! Nobody else sees it, but I do. The cactus moves when nobody's looking! I'm not crazy.
Dear diary,
Mum's coughing a lot today. I don't know what to do. The cactus is right outside my window tonight. Close up, it makes noises.
Dear diary,
Mum was in bed all day today and a doctor came to visit. He said she'll be okay. He's lying. Oh, and there's a penguin inside the cactus! We made friends. I've called it Sophie.
Dear diary,
Sophie seems worried. I'm not sure what's up. Nobody else knows about her. She's my little secret. She visits every day. We're best friends now!
Dear diary,
We played a strange game today. Sophie made me put one of my dresses inside another and sew them together. She stuffed the gap with dried leaves and weeds. When I tried it on, I felt so hot I thought I'd pass out!
Dear diary,
We're going now. Tonight. Sophie is leaving Sophanem forever, and I'm going with her! I've packed my satchel and it's time. Goodbye.
