The Temple Guardian is a dog-like monster that dwells in the entrance of the underground passageway to Canifis. You are required to kill the Temple Guardian in the Priest in Peril quest. Prior to the graphical update, the Temple Guardian resembled the Dark Beast; now it looks like a Guard dog. It can only be killed once, after which trying to attack it will give you the message that you do not wish to anger the king again.
