Tanner

A Tanner is a non-player character who will tan cowhides, snakeskins, or dragonhide for a price. They are very useful for the Crafting skill when players want to make Ranged armour. Note that certain leather require a minimum level to craft them, but not to tan them.
Players can find tanners in the following locations, marked with the tanning icon (
):
- Al Kharid - Ellis
- Crafting Guild
- South-west Varrock - west of the Apothecary and mislabeled on map as a Potter's wheel. Although there is no "trade" option on this tanner which automatcally opens a window on which you pick which hide you want to tan. If you click the cowhide & then the tanner you can avoid talking to the tanner & quiklly tan your cowhides.
- Ranging guild (members only)
- Canifis (members only) - Sbott charges higher prices for tanning
- Neitiznot (members only) - a specialty tanner that only tans yak hides.
