Bots[]

I'm moving the information on how bots used to crowd yew trees down to Trivia. It's not something you need to know when learning about them as it is now long in the past. Trio0 11:52, April 18, 2010 (UTC)

EDIT by Kutittaa - "No there are still tons of bots around at Yew trees, I would keep the information on bots there. You made a useless edit. Also the shadow bug is STILL there. You are blind if you think there are no longer any bots".  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.76.60.163 (talk).

You obviously have not been to f2p idiot

After RS3 update, the remaining yews do not seem to be as heavily botted in F2P .... 108.180.18.82 03:11, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

Yew tree shadow bug fixed[]

I noticed the shadow bug is fixed. Fix the trivia please.

Apparently not. I cut trees at Remmigton and it appears that sometimes the shadows are still there and other times they are not. I managed to get a screenshot of two trees with shadow and two trees without.

Until it is proven otherwise, text about bug will remain that the bug is still there, but affecting only some trees. Golduin 07:04, October 21, 2009 (UTC)
No, not some trees. It is random, or something like that. Sometimes it leaves a shadow and sometimes it doesn't.

Crowded Trees[]

In the article it says trees are pretty much always crowded. Is this strictly accurate?

  • Not necessary to be strictly accurate. In general yew trees are more crowded on f2p worlds. Golduin 08:34, January 10, 2011 (UTC)

Berries on Yew Tree[]

The yew tree in Lumbridge by the Church cemetary has berries. They appear as irregular spots of red. Related to this is a bare yew tree -the one south of the Falador cabbage patch: east one. It had no leaves. That one I saw a few months ago when only Faladian trees were changed. Another is I think was a normal tree which had a beehive-looking cacoon object. I saw it when inside the Makeover Mage's house and the camera was facing north and was at a very horizontal angle.

Money Pouch made entry obsolete[]

I removed " and drop the coins or keep them since this is a somewhat good way to make money especially in free-to-play" from the "4 near Rimmington and south of Melzar's Maze." because with the introduction of the money pouch theres no reason anyone would drop the coins. 71.110.118.153 06:06, March 22, 2012 (UTC)White Flare

Lumbridge Yews[]

The 4 yews west of Lumbridge Castle have been eliminated (temporarily? permanently?) by the Battle of Lumbridge content released with RS3.  This has also lead to the relocation of the HAM enterance, the tree-farming patch, water alter, Lumbridge Lodestone amonst others

Unknown if there is any intention to revert the area or relocate these trees. 108.180.18.82 03:10, July 26, 2013 (UTC)

The Battle of Lumbridge FAQs says "never say never", as a reply to whether Lumbridge will someday be rebuilt after the battle. Who knows what Jagex' plans are, we can only wait and see. IP83.101.44.209 (talk) 05:54, July 26, 2013 (UTC)
Been long enough, I removed the 4 trees there... Will readd if they come back. Proulxs (talk) 00:32, November 20, 2013 (UTC)

7 Tirannwn yews... where?[]

According to the Tirannwn page there are 4 yew trees. According to the Yew tree page there are 7 yew in the Tirannwn region... worst they say near the Tyras camp.

Can anybody tell me where the 3 others are? I don't care if they are hard to reach, impossbile to reach or whatever, I just need to know where they are... If I don't get an answer by nov 30th, I'll edit the page and write that there are 4 in Tirannwn. Done it... No need to wait, I'm waiting you guys to prove I was wrong instead. Proulxs (talk) 23:58, November 19, 2013 (UTC)

Judging by the map of Tirannwn, there are two places for 'rare' trees, one ust east of Port tyras, the other a little south west of Lletya. I believe the Lletya site is a magic tree (maybe more), which leaves the Port Tyras site. I would imagine someone has confused to the two sites and thought they were both Yew trees, which is why we have seven. If you're sure there are just 4 near Port Tyras, I'm happy leaving it at that :) User:Cqm/Signature

Check Health XP[]

This page has two different values for xp for checking health. Both of which differ from the the value on the Yew Seed page and Calculator:Farming/Trees this page. I don't currently have enough yew trees planted to properly check this though. I am also not editting the value for this reason, although if a more experienced person wanted to edit the values down to match the lowest, that would at least mean no one underbuys for a goal.
